And I think they have the oldest roster in the league.
Carr and Mack seem like building blocks though.

Didn't MJD say he think they would get to the playoffs?
MJD said they can get to the Super Bowl with Matt Schaub. Of course that was before they named Derek Carr the starter.

The Raiders are basically what we were two years ago. They are in need of a total rebuild, from top to bottom.

No, we actually had a good owner two years ago. And they are much older.
Another problem in Oakland is the schedule. It includes the NFC West and Chargers, Broncos, and Chiefs twice.

I think it's telling that the only team in the NFL that wanted MJD was the worst team in the NFL.
The team that signs a lot of old and washed up players.
Not exactly a recipe for success.

Once a raider always a Raidaaaaa

I think it all depends on if the Raiders are serious about rebuilding. They were supposed to rebuild under McKenzie but they just kept doing what Al did. Giving up picks for bums like Matt Flynn and Matt Schaub. And signing over the hill players like MJD, Lamar Woodley, Charles Woodson and Justin Tuck. They are a bigger mess than we are right now.
At least Carr looks decent. Not much else there.

The Raiders will have to do the type of complete rebuild that we are currently in, soon.

That won't happen until they get a good GM.

They actually had arguably the best draft class this year but it's getting negated by the abysmal FA signings. The good thing is they get a new coach and a top 3 pick after the season. I think they keep McKenzie.

Other teams wanted MJD. He had three choices and picked Oakland because it is his hometown and he still has a house there.

They have been getting top 10 picks for years, so obviously that does not help them get any better. And no, they don't have the best draft class - the Jaguars do.

They have been bad far longer than we have.... Feel bad for them just since I know how bad it feels to lose too.

Raiders have been in need of a total rebuild for years. Problem is, that's hard to do when you're firing your HC or GM every other year..

LOL. Yeah, it's never good when you can enter posts about your team that start with "At least we're not ..."

They obviously don't know the difference between a high ceiling and a low floor.
One team has a lot of players with untapped talent. The other has a lot of players who are not good anymore. It is obvious which is which.

Well, that untapped talent is 1-7, so until reality catches up to perception it just makes Jaguar fans sound as if we're whistling past the graveyard.
