I still like Hodges from Harvard as a potential Otto LB.
I wouldn't mind Beasley at otto in a trade down.

Quote:I am actually hoping for Dupree as an Otto Line backer. Of course other people will be ranked ahead of him for a more Leo position, but Dupree does check the boxes for Otto.

I like him at OTTO as well. Absolute freak of an athlete and he will succeed. I'd like him if we traded down to around the 10-15 area. I'm getting the feeling that finding an OTTO will be harder to find than a LEO.
I think it will be hard to find any good LBs in this draft that fit our scheme.  Doubt any will be drafted high, so a lot of homework needs to be done on later rounds for fit.

It definitely is. Dante Fowler could be a Leo in Jacksonville because he lined up at outside linebacker and defensive end at Florida. He is being called a 3-4 outside linebacker, but was invited to the combine as a defensive end. I can't look at a pure linebacker and tell you, "This guy is an Otto," but I am on the Fowler bandwagon if we want to pick a Leo player.
Charley Casserly talked about two middle linebackers who can fall to Green Bay's pick: Paul Dawson (because of character issues) and Denzel Perryman (because he is undersized).

Quote:"Instincts, athletic ability, can cover -- he's an undersized guy, but he doesn't stay blocked," Casserly said of Perryman. "The other guy, Dawson, he didn't run well at the combine -- I timed him at 4.92. But he plays faster and quicker on tape. He's excellent between the tackles, phyical guy, downhill guy. ... These guys could be hanigng around in the draft, definite prospects for the Packers. I'd say they could be upgrades, right away, for A.J. Hawk."

Keep in mind Denver also needs a middle linebacker who fits in a 3-4 scheme. If you want one of these guys, you better think about trading up from #36.

Bud Dupree is an interesting round two prospect for the OTTO spot. He's a bit developmental as he's "raw as a pass rusher" and needs to develop moves, however, the rest of his weaknesses as a DE are largely negated as an OTTO making the position ideal for him.

Is he expected to be available at #36?

It's very possible the way players slide every year. He's expected to drop at least into the 20s, and then I'm seeing him all over as a pick right near the tail end of round one. It's not much of a stretch for him to slide to the fourth pick of round two considering he's not an ideal fit at DE and would probably have to make the move to rush backer wherever he goes.

With that kind of projection, we must be concerned about the Titans, Buccaneers, or Raiders picking him - unless you want somebody else at #36.
