Quote:Not only would Henne have not won any games in 2014, but he would have somehow erased wins from previous seasons.
Sad but true.
Does anyone even think for a nano-second that the Jags could or would EVER even have a chance to win a game if Henne had 3 INT?
NOT in any universe.
Quote:I'd be interested to know a Titans fans perspective on Wisenhunt...
On the outside, he certainly seems to have made some puzzling moves/comments this year.
Difficult to say really. It's hard to get a read on him. I do like that there seems to be more accountability with him, and that is players being held accountable for their performances, specifically. I do like most of the coaching staff (but I wouldn't be upset if Jason Michael, the OC, fell into a dumpster and caught on fire). Whisenhunt does seem to have trouble inspiring the players to play. I'm not sure it's entirely his fault. It could be, but I've been wondering the last few seasons if we need a complete culture change. I don't know what is going on in the locker room, but too often you see players just give up on the field. The team consistently plays below the talent level. I don't know if it is Whisenhunt's fault that the problem exists, but it his job to fix the problem. We'll see how he does on that. I want to give the guy a chance.
Personnel decisions have been the biggest head-scratchers so far, but maybe that is his way of taking the locker room. All I have is speculation on that. You do have to wonder why we signed McCluster, a guy with speed and versatility, to his contract to basically make him a rotational returner. There are other examples like this as well. On the outside, it makes no sense, but who knows what is going on behind closed doors.
Just one Titan fan's opinion.

No matter what team, what the situation - it's always the OC's fault.

There is no "always" in football. You can blame some stuff on the quarterback coach and other stuff on the head coach.

If you ask Peyton Manning, the biggest problem in Denver is the scoreboard operator.

Or the DC's fault.
Or the HC's fault
Or the QB's fault
It's ALWAYS one of those 4's fault, when you get right down to it.
ALWAYS has been, ALWAYS will be.
I didn't see any of this game. Curious to know how Mettenberger looked. Anyone see this?

He lost.
That's all that seems to matter as far as the QB goes.

He looked like a rookie, but he had his moments. One thing I liked is how he handled pressure. He steps up, locates a receiver, and throws the ball. This is better than Locker's awkward duck, pivot, and scramble and better than Whitehurst taking his eyes off the field to stare at pressure before running away from the pocket to throw the ball away. At this point with his ability, I'm not sure he is an upgrade, but he doesn't look like a downgrade. I hope Whiz sticks with him. He needs the experience to challenge for the position next season.

From the outside looking in, I think Mettenberger looked pretty solid. He is a rookie with a pretty sad team around him, but he looked calm in the pocket and did a good job of going through his progressions. I think given time, he can be a very good QB in the NFL, IF, his confidence is catered too and opposing defences arn't allowed to feast on him early and often.

To add to that, I think he throws a pretty deep ball. His accuracy & ball placement were a lot better than I expected. I graded him poorly on accuracy & ball placement from what I saw at LSU... so whoever Whisenhunt has working with him has done an excellent job in a short amount of time... but it's only been one game.
Looks like he's got the tools, the balls, & the arm. Went through his progressions well..... the only question I have now, is his toughness. Is he going to continue to be comfortable in the pocket or if he's the next Blaine Gabbert.
