So it's pretty obvious the o-line stepped up hardcore against the Browns and Denard cashed in but would Gerhart have had the same success? Have we been too hard on him with such a young/inexperienced line?

Gerhart is the worst running back in the league, so no, I doubt it.

DRob showed a lot of speed getting to the holes, Amelia probably would have gotten 30 yards on the day had he started.

Honestly I would Gehart be the bell cow in this new  improving offensive line. In Minnesota he ran with great oline that protects Peterson. So with the improving oline let him play in there if he does what denard did, denard can be explosive number 2 RB while Gehart is running over people once he gets past the oline into the secondary. I'm not giving up on Gehart just yet, he has been playing with an injury since week 1. If Gehart can't run in this offensive of line he can at least be our 3rd and 1 guy!

One of the problems is he doesnt really run over anybody
He needs to be healthy and step up.. Im ready for him to prove to us hes worth the money(or not)

Gerhart can warm the bench until d rob fails... As of right now d rob has earned the start

He has more YPC than MJD, who does not have a bad foot.

No, if Shoelace fails it will be Storm Johnson time.
Gerhart has moves and power, and can make yards where other RBs wouldn't. That said, I don't see him as a bell cow starting RB. I see him more as a guy like Fu when he was here who can come in off the bench as a change of pace to pick up key yards.

Who is Fu?

You don't remember Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala?

No. She doesn't. And I can't say that I am shocked by it.

MJD has 2.7 and Gerhart has 2.6, so that's not even correct.
I like Gerhart as a short yardage/third down back. I'd put him there, if he's busting out 15 yard runs all day then yeah let him start again. I prefer DRob's style as the main back anyway.
Here is something I've been thinking about, what if we had gotten Mack from the Browns, then we wouldn't have possibly drafted a center with the thought Brewster would be a back up so in the pre season he would have been evaluated as such and not got the reps so he could shine like he did, we also may have had more success in the first 3 games which means Henne would still be starting, so then when Mack say gets hurt here instead of Cleveland then we have all the issues we worked through in the beginning, now
Gerhart probably would have run for 80 yards or so last week, IMO.

Me neither.
I envision Gerhart and D-Rob as Thunder and Lightning for our offense. Hopefully Gerhart will show why we acquired him as "Our Bell Cow" and D-Rob continues to provide the "Offensive Weapon" abilities...

Imagine the two in on the same play while the opposing D has to wonder "Who's on First"...

I was about to say 90 then saw this.  Agreed, i think he would have had a good game, but is not gifted with the burst denard has. We knew that about Denard, but his vision and strength were really apparent last weekend which is such a good sign for this team.  Hopefully it continues.
