Rotoworld:
Quote:Denard Robinson expected to keep starting job
Toby Gerhart | JAC
(October 20, 2014 8:31 AM EDT)
When asked if Denard Robinson will keep the feature back job, coach Gus Bradley said, "Yeah, I think so."
Coaches are loathe to make depth chart declarations, especially right after games. But Bradley had to at least suggest he'd give it up for Shoelace after a 22-127-1 outing as the starter. When Toby Gerhart returns from his foot injury, he'll slide into a complementary role along with Storm Johnson. Gerhart has been a drop candidate in 10- and 12-team leagues for a few weeks now.

As a follower of Toby Gerhart since he was in high school, I know what he is capable of. That said, DRob has earned the right to start and knowing Toby like I do, he's the first to second that notion. If he gets back into the starting rotation, he'll have to prove it and he understands that. Don't write Toby off just yet Jaguar fans. You've known him less than a year so it's understandable based on his performance how you might ridicule and degrade him. But, he is a warrior and will be the last one laughing.

The only way I see Gerhart still starting is if they move him to FB. Otherwise, I think he'll be viewed as another "swing and miss" FA signing.

Sorry, that's just how it is. He's had one good-looking run all year, and he fumbled at the end of it.
He will be the last one laughing, though, because he made a couple million bucks to play (badly) in, what, four games?

Ditto. Toby may be an asset when Denard has tired defenders all day.
Most expected drob to be the change of pace back but with him improving hopefully a healthy Toby can bulldoze tired opponets into submission or really sell the play action.

Meh. Toby isn't a huge cap hit. He can be released with little cap casualty after the year. Denard is obviously the best back on this team for our zone scheme. He was fantastic yesterday and certainly should keep the job.

The fact that Toby Gerhart was brought in to be anything more than a minimum salary journeyman benchwarmer tells me this management is going to have a hilarious tenure in Jacksonville.
Of course, if Vic tells me he's good I might change my mind.

here's what rotoworld,com said:
3. Denard Robinson, Jaguars – Owned in 9 percent of Yahoo leagues
Toby Gerhart failed and Storm Johnson failed, leaving “offensive weapon” Denard Robinson to start Sunday’s game against a Browns defense that was without two defensive line starters in Phil Taylor and Ahtyba Rubin. Note that this was already among the weakest run units in the league, getting hit for 5.07 YPC by Le’Veon Bell, Mark Ingram, Lorenzo Taliaferro, Shonn Greene and Bell again in their first five games. So I’ll be taking Robinson’s 22-127-1 with a grain of salt, especially considering this Jags offensive line is even worse than the Bills. That said, Robinson possesses some unique running skills with a similar frame to Chris Johnson, has wide receiver eligibility in Yahoo and has essentially been named the Jags’ starter by coach Gus Bradley. How many touches does that mean? Well, the Jags are averaging 18.0 RB carries per game so far and Robinson is a fair bet for 70 percent of them going forward. So 12.6 carries and 1-3 catches per game.

Storm Johnson failed? He was drafted for depth, not to compete for the starting job. How can Rotoworld call him a failure when he is just a change-of-pace back anyway?
