I know that this will sound really harsh, but Toby getting injured last week was probably one of the best things to happen for this team in awhile.

He was on fire, but with the 24th-ranked rushing defense, I'd like to see another week similar to this one. I think the rookies upfront really stepped up their games this week.

Quote:Shoelace sparks Jaguars: 22-127-1 in victory
Denard Robinson | JAC
(October 19, 2014 4:24 PM EDT)
Denard "Shoelace" Robinson gave the Jaguars a running game in Sunday's Week 7 victory, rushing for 127 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in Jacksonville's win over Cleveland.
Looking like a legitimate running back, the converted Michigan quarterback mixed chain-moving gains with explosive runs on the perimeter. He handled the 22 touches compared to Storm Johnson's six, and Jordan Todman's one. "Shoelace" should remain Jacksonville's lead back until further notice, even when Toby Gerhart (foot) returns. The Jaguars will face the Dolphins' stout run defense next. Robinson is worth owning in all leagues, but is likely to struggle on the ground against Miami.
Fantasy scramble!

Drob's post game interview. He seemed surprised at how good the line was blocking today. Lol

Lets just hope he keeps this up!

Quote:Dayummmmm! He looked great against a good defense. More Drob please!Cleveland doesn't have a good defense this year and were playing us with a bunch of injuries on their D-line.

Toby Gerhart did not get injured last week. He aggravated the Week 1 injury after playing with it too long.

the man crush is official on.

Don't write off Toby Gerhart yet. When he comes back, he will be a solid addition to the running back rotation.

Maybe on third and short or goal line situations. He can't break a big run like Denard's 20-yarder.

I'd cut Toby and find another contributor to the team.

Of all the asinine vet cuts mentioned lately, this is certainly not among them.
I believe there's some growth left for these young RBs behind a line that's coming together.

Denard Robinson glides on the football field, he's so explosive, really reminds of Jamaal Charles. Question, if D Rob played RB exclusively in college how high would he have gone in the draft? He probably would've been a 2nd-3rd round pick; the Jaguars (potentially) got a franchise RB in the 5th round.

Priest Holmes was undrafted, Arian Foster was undrafted, Alfred Morris and Terrell Davis were 6th rounders. You find franchise backs by having diligent scouting staffs and patient coaching staffs that let the player develop. Glad they were patient after his issues last year.

Yup my comparison has always been a jamal charles lite for denard. not as fast or shifty but he is very smart in setting up blocks

I agree on the Jamal Charles comparison.

he needs to see a couple of rb screen per game, thats the only play gerhart has excelled this season, unfortunately.

Very smart in setting up blocks? SMH.
