Personally I think Klinsman is right and he touched a nerve with Garber. I also think Garber has the right to respond how he did, in fact, I expect it.
As pointed out in many articles on this, the topic is good. It shows passion and a willingness to at least start talking about this and how to improve MLS and how things are done in this country with soccer, and US Soccer.

Klinsman is right. The top players on the USMNT need to be playing in Europe.
Iron sharpens iron. The best only get better by playing the best. Until the MLS can consistently get a better group of talent, US stars need to stay in Europe.
Klinsman is 100% right. Garber is just sticking up for his league but the MLS is kind of a joke.
I'm not a soccer fan, but isn't the goal to build the sport in our country? How is the sport suppose to grow if it's best athletes are playing overseas?

The MLS is heads and shoulders above what it was just 5 years ago, let alone when it started. It's getting there, but still a ways to go.
If you're thinking tactically, Klinsman is right. For this next World Cup, Bradley and the rest would likely be in better form if they can find consistent minutes in a Champion's League side.
If you're thinking strategically, young American midfielders and defenders are going to improve much more by playing the top talents of Dempsey, Bradley, etc. in MLS than they would if those top talents aren't playing here. Them playing in MLS won't help next World Cup, but it will help in the next 2-3 beyond that when we have a large stable of players that have played with/against some of the best in the world rather than just a few that can get work permits and make it overseas.
Klinsmann is average without Tim Howard. It was like target practice out there in the World Cup.
