Quote:I can still get a second-round pick for Lewis in Madden. The fact that Caldwell hasn't yet just proves how incompetent he is. Tongue

LOL.   Big Grin
How long before someone posts on this forum that Caldwell blew it by not trading [Fill in the blank] when he could have, without even considering the fact that trades involve two teams, not just the one wishing to move a player.

Probably the Chihuahua's first post the day after the trade deadline.

,,,,wont be me.

Jags don't need Harvin.

Once Lee gets untracked, Harvin would barely be our 3rd best WR on the team.

We're already going to be having enough trouble finding enough passes for the existing Jags WR corps.

Harvin would have been a stupid trade for the Jags. Thats why Caldwell if asked I'm sure passed on the deal easily.
I wonder what the situation is with Arthur Brown?  Is he not that good?  Are the Ravens asking too much for him?  Do the ravens not want to trade him?  I for one would like to give him a shot at Poz's spot for a 4 round pick.

I don't like trading away future draft choices.

I wouldn't be opposed to a player for player trade for Arthur Brown, as I do like the player....but the problem is I don't know who we'd give up that they might want. They don't need a WR, so Shorts is out of the question.

Ideally maybe we could do a Poz for Arthur Brown deal, maybe they'd bite as they are in win-now mode....

From what I gathered he seems to be an odd fit in the 3-4. He's better suited playing OLB in a 4-3. I'm unsure if the Ravens are willing to deal him and how much they would seek for compensation but he could potentially be an upgrade to Geno Hayes at OLB.
What exactly has he done to trade anything for him?

Let's trade picks for him and Dion Jordan while we're at it

Quote:1. Marcedes Lewis is on IR and can't be traded. Even if he could be sent elsewhere, no one would trade for his contract.

2. No one's going to offer more in draft picks than Shorts is worth to this offense right now, even if Caldwell doesn't re-sign him. I'll take the fourth-round supplemental pick for his $37M contract over the sixth-round pick Cleveland's offering any day.

3. Poz is a 30-year-old two-down linebacker who times his 40 with a sun dial and gets paid $9.5 million this year. He has less trade value than a ham sandwich.

I agree on Lewis and Poz.  However, what you are saying on Shorts regarding the comp pick is likely inaccurate.  Comp picks are awards based upon the overall free agency period.  You only get a comp pick if you lost more than what you got.  I think it is almost inevitable that even if we lose Shorts, we would sign far more in free agency this off-season to offset it.  If we don't, it would be an absolute outrage.  I expect us to be very active in free agency.  This team isn't getting a comp pick regardless of whether we keep or trade Shorts.
Quote:We don't have any extra picks for next year yet, so I wouldn't mind trying to add a few with some trades of veterans for draft picks. (if possible)
Me to. We need them
I would like to see us stock up on some picks, Im not a big Spiller fan and dont have much faith in him. But whatever happens happens.

We're an hour away from the deadline. Looks pretty quiet on the jaguars front.
