Quote:If harbaugh even gets cut, besides Michigan, some people think he might wind up going to the raiders. A lot of people like Carr, he looks like he's got a lot of potential, and harbaugh wouldn't have to move his family across the country.

I'm really more interested to hear who some other options would be. Does anyone even have any suggestions outside of the one guy that if available will be wanted by every team with a vacant spot?

Gruden and Cowher, ha
Quote:Lets put this in layman's terms.

You asked one of the hottest girls in school to the prom, but some DB football player asked her first and she said she would go with him. To not go alone, you asked a girl who was nice, but not very good looking to go to the prom. Leading up to the prom, you hear through the rumor mill that the hottest girl in school isn't going to prom with the DB football player anymore. The devil on one shoulder is telling you to re-ask her to the prom, but the angel on the other shoulder wants to do the right thing and stick with the mediocre girl you just asked to prom when you were rejected by the hot girl.

You know if you listen to the angel, you won't have as good of a time on prom night as if you listen to the devil.

You forgot to mention that we are the goofy kid that can't get anything right. The hot girl would probably laugh at us and then goto prom with the DB basketball star.

Yeah, but she may have sympathy for the goofy kid and take him on as a project like Cindy Mancini did with Ronald Miller, and eventually turn him into the cool kid.

Quote:I would assume Greg Roman would be more realistic. Harbaugh is going to have his pick of the liter if he chooses.

Great....another candidate without head coaching experience...

I don't think we can risk that.

Although....Roman (offensive background) as HC, with Rex Ryan at DC  running the defense might work. I certainly think it would work better than what we have now.

Quote:How many teams with legitimate franchise QB's will have vacant coaching positions? Not many I assume.

That scenario would be very rare and makes Jacksonville an attractive landing spot. Then add in an owner that wants to win and has deep pockets...

Jags situation > Raiders, IMO.

Bortles > Carr.

how many more times do i have to ask you for your suggestions outside of harbaugh?

thats one guy and the likelihood we land him is miniscule.....  so before propping up one of your impossible agendas, can we have 4 other TMD approved upgrades over gus?

gruden would be my dream dude as coach, i also said the same for the gators job hahaha..... but thats one of those things that i wouldnt bet money on, ever.
The hiring of Harbaugh wouldn't do much to change the fortunes of this team immediately. Just for starters we'll have to rebuild the entire defense from scratch yet again going from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense. It may work out in the long run only if Harbaugh and his ego doesn't clash with Caldwell and Khan. Going by his track record and what's going on in San Fran, I wouldn't bet on it.

i think the only way he doesnt wind up back at san fran is if he winds up at michigan.

I think he would be a good candidate in ATL if Mike Smith continues to struggle and gets the can. Arthur Blank seems to be getting impatient and they have a very good nucleus of talent, at least on the offensive side.
