I miss Del Rio... god I feel horrible for saying that.

I find it strange that he preaches to not focus on wins and losses, yet the players have occasionally contradicted him by saying they really badly want to win (see Alan Ball's quote they showed during the game).

It makes me wonder if the players are 100% buying into Bradley's philosophy.

Personally I think this thread title is needlessly cruel, and lacking in class.

Just because Gus sucks doesn't mean Del Rio ALSO didn't suck. 

 

 

Who you SHOULD be missing is Tom Coughlin. At least he was a legit head coach and we actually enjoyed high level play. 

Frankly; only a simpleton would put forth such a over-simplistic analysis.  The offensive line has been neglected since 2007 and we are suffering the consequences.  Our secondary is nearly as bad and our defense is struggling (although the upgrades made to the line has resulted in a marked increase in sacks thus far).  Player acquisition is Caldwell's area of responsibility and it was his decision to completely gut the roster last year and start over from scratch.  Rebuilding the team is a process and will take time.  If you lack the ability to comprehend the big picture you would do well to avoid public displays of ignorance.

Yes.... I think a PRO coach, a Gruden, a Cowher, a Johnson has a siginificantly better chance of turning this team around in a much shorter time than 'Good ol' Gus'

Gruden and Cowher have settled into the lifestyle of broadcaster and sports personality. I wouldn't trust their commitment towards rebuilding a franchise since I don't believe the hunger is still there. If somehow you are able to lure them here to Jax, they'll probably be on cruise control and you won't get the same level of coaching that Pittsburgh and Oakland/Tampa did.

Gruden's name always pops up whenever a coaching vacancy in college or pros is being discussed. He appears to be a very hot commodity.

 

Yet, the man is doing Hooters commercials on radio. I get the sense that guys like him think that they've already paid their dues to their craft and are now just very content with accepting money from whichever direction it's thrown at them, whether from TV to ads.
