I just posted this in the injury thread. Although it sucks he aggravated his ankle injury in practice I am happy he was ruled out because the injury often made him useless. He really should have stayed out the rest of the Eagles game and done nothing except therapy the next week. Coaches must have not realized at the time he can't heal if he is on the field too much. Of course, it would have been better if he was benched instead of ruled out because of a nagging injury. Hopefully Bradley will get it right with Storm Johnson and Denard Robinson now that Gerhart is not an option for at least one week.

Per rotoworld:

Toby Gerhart | JAC

Toby Gerhart (foot) has been ruled out for Week 6 against the Titans.

Gerhart sprained his foot last Sunday, got in a full practice Wednesday, but suffered a setback and will not play. Look for rookie Storm Johnson to handle the early-down work and possibly see 12-15 carries in what should be a competitive football game between two bad teams. Johnson is worth grabbing in 12-team leagues. He easily could take off with the lead-back job in Jacksonville.

Her name was Amelia Earhart.
Huge loss! /sarcasm
Someone got whooshed...

Quote:I think if the coaching staff had conviction about Slowby they wouldn't have held him out this week. He's being held out for an injury that he's been playing with since week 2, and there haven't been any indications that it's been reaggravated or gotten worse. Sounds to me like they just wanted to get the other RBs some more playing time without outright benching Slowby

Wrong on both counts. He injured it in Week 1 and came back in. The reason he did not practice Thursday or Friday is he aggravated it on Wednesday. Coaches already were going to bench him but never said he will be inactive for performance reasons.

LOL Amelia Earhart lived so long ago someone could have forgotten her last name, you know.

However I like the idea to make a play on words with the name Storm.

I'm with you on the coaching staff just wanting to see the other backs.
How else will we turn 4th and inches into a loss?

I'm not happy he's injured, but I'm happy the other RBs will get a shot. I was never sold on Gerhart being the solution at RB and his play this season hasn't exactly swayed me on that.

Blake Bortles gets sacked.

I also want to say Im not happy he is hurt but I am happy he is getting rest and others have a chance.

Also the cat picture is cute.

I think he would have been asked to play through the injury earlier in the season, but the emergence of Storm has given them another option.

Hopefully we can see what a healthy Gerhart can do when he comes back.

And if Storm, DRob and Todman play we can see whether they can carry the ball up the middle any better.

But is it Todman or Storm as the starter ? Or will it be a true rotation of backs ?

Wow
Does he have an ankle concussion?  the ankle brain is a sensitive area

That comment makes no sense. He has been playing with the injuiry since the first half of the Eagles game, but was never the best running back on the team. So there is no reason to say Toby Gerhart would have played through the injury earlier in the season because he actually did. Storm Johnson was also battling an ankle injury then, so Denard Robinson would have started if Gerhart was held out of the Redskins, Colts, and Chargers games.

I know Johnson is hurt again, but he was healthy all last week and able to show the coaches he is too low on the depth chart. Now it is clear who deserves to start against the Titans, but if Gerhart had not aggravated his ankle injury on Wednesday, he would still be active as a situational or backup runner.

If you saw the horsecollar tackle you would know it is a sprain. He  got hurt because his foot moved into an awkward position as he went down the wrong way. Concussions don't happen that way.

How does an arm concussion or ankle concussion happen?   Im dumb when it comes to this stuff
