Who said Rex Ryan will be unemployed next year? I actually read a while back he signed a contract extension with the Jets.

After the Chargers game, Ryan provided a heartfelt apology "to our fans, those that are left."

 

At least Rex gets it. Gus should apologize to us as well instead of pretending like they are getting better.

LOL.  His defense was just treated exactly like ours was by Philip Rivers and company.  

 

No thank you.  I like Rex to some degree and I like smash mouth defense, but I don't see him gelling with Gus at all. Plus we've already had the Baltimore-spin-off defense here once under JDR.  I'm not sold on Babich, but I don't see Ryan (either of them) working here at all.

He's like Jack Del Rio, good at DC, but not made out to be HC.

So, using one game against the hottest team in the NFL to judge his entire body of work?

 

Hard to argue that a guy living under an overpass wouldn't be better than Babich, but i'm sure the teal glasses brigade will argue it.

LOL you guys are clowns. Did you not see their offense put up only 60 yards in the first half? Name one defense that would look good with that horrid production. Give me a break.

Exactly. The Chargers even with all their injuries are still looking good and Rivers is the #1 QB in the league right now. 

 

People will say anything out of their [BLEEP]. 

I'm all for it.

If Rex Ryan can fix this defense, he is a shoe-in for another HC job. He will probably leapfrog Del Rio.

Babich is far from the greatest but Rex would only be marginally better and the circus act wouldn't be worth the marginal improvement. He's just a guy who was carried by the talent on his team. Now that talent is gone and he's no longer able to "pencil whip" the opposing offense.

I'd go for that.

I 100% disagree, but you are entitled to your opinion.

He would never come be a DC in jacksonville.


And it would be awkward to have him getting paid more than Gus is getting paid.

Too big a name to come to Jax. Sucks because he probably would do some good for this defense.
