Quote:What's it like after a win, I can't remember?  What's it like when they win a game and are still in playoff contention?

Remember when Henne was benched?

Imagine the euphoria of that multiplied by the amount of euphoria obtained by trading Gabbert and Reggie Nelson combined.

Sure you have to use your order of operations to get there, but, if you try hard enough, you might just be in the ballpark (sorta like the 2014 Jaguars! :teehee: ).
I think our next win is going to feel like we are Ole Miss beating Alabama.

Fans should be allowed to storm the field lol.
I can't remember anything from the game.  Just yelling at Steeler fans the whole time.

Hungover and gonna be late for work, thats what the deal is.
I wasn't thrilled with the outcome, but they did show progress, so I'll choose to look at it as that and not as simply another loss and go join the "Fire Everybody" brigade.

This team is just so inconsistent. Defense is either solid or terrible for an entire half/game, or the offense is. Special teams is pretty consistent, but that's about it. Hopefully the jaguars play their first 60 minute game next week against the titans
I've never been on the just be competitive and improve team. Win a damn game. Beat a team that you're not supposed to beat for once in your life. Quit being 4-17 under the his regime and do something that looks like a team turning a corner. Five games in and the season is over. That's pathetic.
Quote:Yes, it was competitive. Yes, it shouldn't have taken 5 games to get here. Yes,  it's hard to wait for the young and inexperienced to become solid pros in their prime.

No, I'm not giving up hope.  And….. no, I don't think we'll win 6or 7 games like I did 5 weeks ago.  Sad
But it didn't take 5 games to get here.

We were in the game in Philly until late in the 4th quarter.  IIRC, we were tied heading into the 4th.

Now games 2-3 were unmitigated disasters.

Game 4 against San Diego, we were toe to toe with the Chargers until late in the first half, when Guy blew that coverage on the out and up.

This is true. Just bc we've had some bad losses doesn't mean the team isn't better than it was last year. It definitely is. We've played only teams ranked in the top 10 in offense and/or defense, and like you said besides week 2 and 3, we played them very well for the most part.

Last season we wouldn't have even had a chance in any of these games.
The way I'm looking at it now, we're 0 - 2.  The season started when Blake started playing.  Everything before that was just preseason.  The clock has officially started for the upper management of this team and they've started 0 - 2.  Now to fix problems and find out better ways to utilize players abilities.

Yes, but nobody will look at it from that perspective. You can cherry pick all you want, but we are 4-17 since they took over and 0-5 this year....

Blake is 0-2 and he's shown promise, but not enough to overcome the terrible offensive talent we have running around out there.
I agree with the OP. Im trying to figure out why this fanbase is having a meltdown? You do realize that we are not even 2 years from Gene Smith? What does this fanbase expect? Gene Smith destroyed this roster. Give the organization a chance.

Fans are being frustrated because we're tired of losing all of the time.  We have a strong base of fans despite being so pitiful.  We are giving the organization a chance...no one so far has threatened not to renew their tickets as we've had many other times.  We're just frustrated and tired of being the laughingstock of the league.

I for one at least enjoyed the game this week.  Why does it have to take 5 games to finally be competitive?

I think we as a fan base are more encouraged after this week (did you see the MB the last few weeks lol?).  That said, if we lose this week, even if we keep it close, it will seem like armageddon.  Frankly we just can't lose to the Titans with either Charlie Whitehurst or Jake Locker starting.

I won't be happy with just competing like I am this week.  I will only be happy with a win next week.

JW -- we shouldn't have to feel like Ole Miss beating Alabama if and when we beat the 1-4 Titans..... HA !!

STORM THE FIELD -- WE BEAT THE TITANS  !!!  :woot:

I have a feeling the only person who really matters will look at it that way, and he's the guy with the killer stache who signs the checks.
