Quote:I have watched ND all year(all their games). You will win by 35! I am not kidding. If ND would win though they will be #1. Old timers like me watch ND more than any other team because they will get the best media love no matter what.
Remember 2 years ago? The most overrated team of all time. Alabama blasted them and everyone knew it was coming.
This will be the only time I will pull for FSU this year. I HATE ND!
They don't have the athletes to keep up with FSU, but we haven't exactly looked impressive so far. If we can get off to a fast start, I think it could end up being a blowout.
I have yet to see a single coach, sports writer, or commentator NOT associated with Notre Dame that thinks it was a bad call. There are probably a couple out there, but they're certainly the exceptions.
I like FSU's chances against everyone except Alabama and maybe Mississippi State right now. While I think Mississippi State is overrated, they match up very well with FSU emphasizing a power running attack. If you're going to beat FSU, you'd better be able to cram it down their throat. Even then, Jameis can carry the team on his back a lot of weeks and it would likely come down to red zone success and turnovers. Fortunately for FSU fans those two still have to play each other and it's extremely unlikely both make it to the playoff.

I don't know that it was the right call. The only reason I say that is because in watching the replay the defender never even tried to get over to the receiver. He just either lost him or thought he had coverage elsewhere. The other two receivers occupied their defenders, but it technically wasn't a pick play because the defender didn't make an attempt to get through the coverage to draw the foul. But that's neither here nor there. I don't really care as I don't have a dog in the fight. I don't care for either team, and regardless of the outcome of the game, I don't see either team as being good enough to play in the championship game this year. A lot of people were saying ND was overrated and FSU would beat them easily. Well, if that was the case, what does that say about FSU that they needed a questionable call and some late game heroics to beat ND?
It was offensive pass interference being committed on the two defenders being blocked. You're allowed to block before the receiver gets the ball as long as he catches it behind the line of scrimmage such as on a WR screen. You're not allowed to block defenders downfield and outside of the box anywhere near the receiver on a passing play if the ball is being thrown beyond the line of scrimmage. That's offensive pass interference.
I certainly wasn't of the ones saying ND was overrated. I've been picking the loser of this game to make it to the playoff for weeks now. There aren't any great teams this year, and several very good teams. I'd say the top of that class is Alabama, Florida State and Oregon (recently I included Oklahoma, but apparently I was overrating them) followed by the Mississippi schools, Auburn, Notre Dame and Michigan State, and then the best of the rest that could still beat anyone I've already listed on occasion, UGA, Ohio State, Kansas State, Oklahoma, TCU, Baylor, and Arizona State.
