These are gimmicks.
But these gimmicks are among the things that Khan and company have done to make the team financially viable in Jacksonville.

Quote:This makes me sad for the game experience. This is not what going to a football game is about. I don't have kids (just not my thing) but I wouldn't want to have to wade through all of that getting into the stadium with an impressionable kid in tow and trying to explain to them what that's all about.
I guess this is what happens when you're desperate to get people in the Bank on gameday. By any means necessary. I guess in a way Shad is a genius if this is his idea of getting people in the stadium, regardless of why they're there. But this is not fan building. Not by a long shot.
It just doesn't sit well with me as a football fan who, if I still lived there, would be at every game. For the game.
But, to each their own.
You don't have to "wade through it" at all. In fact, you really don't have to see it at all if you don't go in that area. The only thing that annoys me is the "commercials" for the Clevelander deck they run on the video boards, that occasionally seem to run long and into the snap count when our offense is on the field. The two DJs are idiots who think they are funny/cute. Other than that, it is a non factor for me.

Thanks for clarification without being a jerk. The pictures obviously don't show a lot and I assumed some of that was around the stadium. I haven't been to a game since 2009 when I moved out of state and no one has posted a "Let's take a tour of the upgrades" video so it's hard to tell what you're looking at.

If the Jags were winning, nobody would care (Please start winning!)

This isn't a big deal to me.
I actually like the fact that the upper mgmt is forward-thinking like this.
Its stuff like this that is helping to keep the Jags in Jacksonville. Why anyone would bash or complain about that is beyond me.

You are complaining about people going to games for the wrong reasons, but haven't been to a game in 5 years?
This is rich.

Yep. Gotta love it.

Just think of it as a 2 for 1 special... For the price of a ticket you get the game day experience as well as the "other" entertainment.

I guess the Jaguars should do away with Jaxson and The Roar since they are not a part of the football game.
Lighten up Francis.

Agree. Since 2012 our record at home is 2-15. With many of these games complete disasters. So if people have not actually paid and sit through these games I think it is hard for them to understand how brutal it has been. So I have no problem with people who are still paying and going to these games perhaps trying to find some fun. And to some that is hanging out at the Cevelander, so more power to them for forking over the bucks. As said above winning will cure all. For me, season ticket holder since day one with my current commitment through next year. If there is no significant improvement I will no longer be a season ticket holder but instead pick and choose when to attend.

I came across an interesting read today, and it's written by one of the hosts of Helmet & Heels on 1010XL.
I'll see your interesting read and add one of my own:
Eric Adelson's Yahoo article
Seems the deck is well received. For the first time in our losing season, I feel they're laughing with us and not at us. I second myself in stating that we should keep rolling, but add local talent. I'm sure we have plenty.
Also: hate to say this, but Jax was not well received by sports journalists after the Super Bowl here, mainly because they are a bunch of degenerates whose idea of a good time is significantly different than the wholesome image much of the Jax population wants to shove down their throats. Attractive young people having a good time is not a bad image - and can coexist with us ugly old dudes also having a good time.
