I heard he is expected to go #1 overall in the 2015 draft. Obviously the Jaguars don't need him because he is too good to be a backup, but the Texans and Titans still do not have a franchise quarterback, so he could end up playing against us every year. I read the Texans said they would have wanted him if he had decided to leave early. However, I don't think he is getting all of the hype people heaped on Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin two years ago. Rather I think it is more like the years when someone was expected to be picked #1 overall because no other quarterback was better even if he lacked the potential to be elite. Do you agree? Am I underrating him?

I actually think its coaching that's holding him back.
He has all the tools. He just needs to refine his technique.

because they are in the weak PAC 12 and they run a gimmick offense.... vandy, ole miss, and kentuckey would probably look like bosses if they played in the PAC.... they are not "one of the best every year" regardless of what the polls say... Oregon is just an incredibly well funded program who rely's on uniforms, mascots, and flashy training facilities to attract young talent....they are one of my least favorite NCAA teams

because IMO it's true... the comparison was done to emphasis the weakness in their conference which leads to them even being a top 10 team... , i didnt compare any of the teams directly to Oregon.... not sure y i bothered explaining this, love when people take one barely relative statement out of a whole post and act like that was my entire point....gj

Do we really think that Oregon would be a top 10 (or top 2 as they were this week) if they were in the SEC? I highly doubt they would be.

Not a chance they would be. They're still a finesse team that relies on speed. They don't match up well with physical teams, which is the majority of the SEC

Exactly. Lumping them in with Vandy and Kentucky is not a stretch at all. If Oregon had to face the SEC schedule they'd likely not be far off from those level of teams because of how they play and the talent they recruit. They'd be unlikely to make it through the SEC wringer with only 1-2 losses.

Considering how many SEC teams are overrated because of the conference they are in (see South Carolina being #9), I bet they would be.

exactly... i mean, im an FSU fan but i will still admit alot of things would be different if we played in the SEC... especially this year.
i know i slamed oregon in my above post but i will say they surprised me when they played auburn with newton at the helm...they lost but they looked much better than i thought, still i believe they would be slaughtered if they were in the SEC.
Chip Kelly was the coach at that game. I think poll voters are having a hard time accepting the fact that the current head coach is not like Kelly.

all the same.... i thought they were walking into a slaughter since auburn beaten bama but they actually played a competitive football game... they are still a over funded side show that is a weak attempt to act like football is relevant on the west coast.... look at the college scouts main pipelines for high school players, its Florida and Texas and really all the gulf coast states.... not saying top prospects never come from anywhere else, but these are the fertile grounds for young talent because football is second to no sport in these areas.... thats a big reason the SEC is as strong as it is.... IMO saying teams like UCLA, USC(post pete carroll recruiting era), Oregon, or Stanford would be competitive in the SEC is ridiculous.
