The NFL would go the way of professional boxing. It's popularity and profitability would wane.

 

Way too much of the NFL's success and side business growth (fantasy football, merch, etc) depend on allowing people to see the games.

 

The NFL has been bluffing for a long time now about all of that pay per view stuff. They won't be dumb enough to let it happen.

I'd have no problem with The NFL being on pay-per-view.. As long as the teams involved were already blacked out because of poor attendance. 

 

That said, there's plenty of free sites around to watch any football game you'd like on Sunday, black out or not..
