Quote:I wouldn't even say he caught it, it pretty much just fell on him instead of the ground.

It did not fall on the ground because he caught it.

Hopefully Jerry Sullivan will show him how to catch it in the air next time.
I think his catching issue is more of the fact that he's losing his concentration when the ball comes to him during games. He'll be fine though, he's not one of those receivers that just cannot catch the ball like Troy Williamson.

Undrafted rookie may go over 1000 yards??? Fire everyone!
Would be amazing for Hurns to do this, I do have my doubts he will hit the 1k mark, I do see him hitting 800 or so, I believe with Bortles in he will bring Robinson along more and maybe the Lee and others. No matter what Hurns has shown some great things and I hope his hands get better.

Very possible with all the WRs being hurt.

Allen Hurns is a starter and one of the injured wide receivers so that does not mean anything.

He is doing great.  As of now only two rookie recievers are in the top 25 in the league in recieving yards.  These are Kelvin Benjamin at #9 (329 yards) and Allen Hurns at #24 (254 yards).  It'll be interesting to see which rookie WR ends up having the most yards.  Will be quite a feat if Hurns comes out on top.

Quote:Allen Hurns is on pace for 1016 yards, which would make him the first undrafted rookie receiver in NFL history to log 1,000 in his first year.

It's already an exclusive club, but an undrafted rookie?

Anyways, I thought I'd bring this up, since I've been pretty negative (and rightfully so) the past 12 hours. The Jaguars have very, very few individual accomplishments to be proud of, so it'd be nice to add a big one like that.
Love the kid. He is that one guy that makes you want to really pull for. I said this a while back, but I really think he and Robinson will be the top two WRs this year.

Quote:His double move is great.

His hands are very suspect though.

I agree, his double move is great.

His double hands, not so much.
If he caught that deep pass against Washington...

To bad you jinxed him with this thread.

The football gods love to torture me, so he'll get 1,000 yards

But we'll go 0-16.

I'm sorry, guys
An Interesting note:

David Garrard was a guest on Jaguars Today this week and said he thought the long pass from Bortles to Hurns was improvised by Hurns once the safety overcommitted on his fake and he (Garrard) was impressed that Bortles was able to see it and find him down the field.

If that really is the case, count me in as impressed also.

The future is bright!
The future is not bright.  Didn't you read the "no reason to believe thread"  ?

I've always wondered just how often things of this nature happen during a game...if that's not a sign of chemistry and execution, I don't know what is. Big Grin
How sweet would it be if Hurns and Bortles were battling at the end of the season for OROY?  Heck throw Robinson in there as a trifecta.

It's comical how much 'ink' his fabulous reception has gotten. He made the catch!!! That is step one...I don't care if he uses his teeth. Make the grab, then we can worry about the TD.

Hurns is my favorite Jag receiver since #82 and #87. Hoping A.Rob can win my trust too.
