Quote:Upsets are anything but impossible in the NFL.

If Bortles had been starting in the Eagles game it's quite likely the Jaguars would have won that game and they were double digit underdogs.

I think Bortles will do fine but another key will be getting the running game off the ground. I think if D-Rob sees more carries, and assuming Gus finally has an OL lineup that can start making some progress we may be able to get that phase going Lageman did some tape breakdown that showed Bowanko in particular is doing some good things.

Agreed on the running game man. I caught some of the talk on 1010XL as well. I think it was actually Prisco, but he was notticing that Joeckel and Beadles were actually having more struggles on the left side compared to the revolving door we've seen at the Center position and the right side in it's entirety this season. Either way, we've got to get this ground game going. If the offensive lineman can't open up some lanes, you've got to consider swapping out the plow horse for the greyhound at this point. Shoelace has speed, quickness, and burst. If the line collapses he has a better shot at maybe making something out of nothing.
Just in case the OP still thinks the Jags will win or anyone is feeling like an upset is possible -- I have bad news…..

<p class="" style="font-size:26px;">There ya go. RT <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/JagsEquip'>@JagsEquip</a>: We'll be wearing black jerseys and white pants tomorrow. <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Jaguars?src=hash'>#Jaguars</a>

<p class="" style="font-size:26px;">

Why white pants again? Black on black looks better.

San Diego is never hot in late September - in fact it is not even hot in hte middle of summer. So really I don't think either team needs to wear white pants.

Wow. That's our worst combo
Quote:So many mistakes in that article I'd think it was written by one of the less literate members of this board.

Yes, like what the hell is this supposed to mean? From the article....

Quote:There's no pressure on Bortles this week, and there's a decent team around him that went 4-1 in the middle of their schedule last week before collapsing late (and early).

Did we become a baseball team?  How did we go 4-1 in a week?
LOL Where did he get the 4-1 from? And how on Earth can he think there is no pressure on a quarterback who is making his first NFL start? That guy is an idiot.

I don't have a jounalism degree, but I could write an article much better than he did.

I bet you could JW, I bet you could.

I'm sure it would be very entertaining too.

What exactly are we talking about you trying here?

Trying to see if I could do a better job than a paid reporter.

Yes, clean that article up for us if you don't mind.
I'm interested to see how well this defense looks without being on the field more than the offense

It will face a very tough test against Rivers and the Chargers.

They have pretty much owned the Jags for a while now.

But they get a break when the Chargers decide to run it. I am interested in seeing how much facing Donald Brown helps our run defense. Of course it is old news that the Chargers own us.
<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:15px;">Let me know what you think of these improvements to the same article:

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:15px;">

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:15px;">Blake Bortles has it all. His arm is very strong. He's big and strong. He can run enough to be called a mobile quarterback. He makes good decisions and makes them quickly.

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:15px;">

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:15px;">The reason Bortles was the first quarterback picked in this year's draft is he is like Ben Roethlisberger without the rape accusations. I suppose that means he can also get hurt a lot, but durability was not a concern when he played at  UCF.

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:15px;">

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);">I am a big believer that a rookie quarterback should make his first start at home if possible, but after seeing what happened the first three weeks, I have to say now is the right time to make the switch. There is a lot of pressure on Bortles, who must play with guys close to him in age and replacements for injured starters.

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);">

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);">The big problem with the Jaguars this week is that their offensive line hasn't played great in front of Chad Henne and Toby Gerhart, but neither of those guys were doing the line any favors. Gerhart can't stretch the defense horizontally and Henne holds on to the ball too long to be an effective NFL QB. Bortles gets rid of the ball almost immediately after hitting the back of his drop, which will help his offensive line quite a bit, and Denard Robinson's speed will also help the Jaguars get first downs.

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);">

<p style="font-family:'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:15px;">Expect a better performance from the Jaguars offensive line in San Diego.

<p style="font-family:'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:15px;">

The Jaguars have decent wide receivers with great upside, but Marqise Lee is out Sunday and Ace Sanders is suspended one more week for a drug violation. Second rounder Allen Robinson and undrafted Allen Hurns can make big plays downfield. Cecil Shorts has also been productive and can only get better with Bortles.

What that means is the Chargers should be ready for lots of long passes all over the field because Bortles isd not afraid to take chances and with Gerhart starting at running back, the easiest way to get a first down is through the air. The team that dominates time of possession will win this game.

Ahh, I now have a new catch phrase.  Blake Bortles; Ben Roethlisberger without the rape accusations.

Quote:This reminds me of Colts fans saying on their board they were worried about losing in Jacksonville. Look at how that turned out LOL.

Do I dare see if Chargers fans are saying the same thing?
.

Henne 30 tp 0 in clots game.

Bortles 17 to 14 in clots gsme

LOL I did that because the stupid author wrote "Brett Favre without the sexual harrassment."
