I was just looking at Blaine Gabberts game by game stats from his rookie year. Humor me

In week 8 in 2011 Gabbert was 10-30 97 yds 1 TD 2 INT 3.23 y/a 26 QB rating. OMG! Might

Be one of the worst performances ever put on by a QB.

Thank God for BB5!! I don't think on his worst day it would be that horrendous.

Moral of the story is as bad as it has been for us Jag Nation I believe the tide is turning

and all the fans that have stuck with the team through the brutal losses it will feel

Awesome when this franchise it back to the glory days.
Glory days? We've been stuck in mediocrity for so long, they are but a faint memory..

Gabbert shows how pointless combine numbers are too. You would think he would be more athletic if you compared the numbers and Bortles would be just a pocket passer
Gabbert had everything but the two things between us male's legs. Really looking forward to see Bortles play on TV. I missed the Colts gsme and never saw thr preseason games
I wouldn't say never.  Even Elite guys have awful games.

Tom Brady:

2003 - 14/28 123 yards 4 INT's 0 TDs 22.5 rating

Peyton Manning:

2001 - 19/32 173 yards 0 TD 3 INT 35.0 Rating

Aaron Rodgers:

2010 - 7/11 46 yards 0 TD 1 INT 34.7 Rating

What you really want to look at is how often QB's throw multiple touchdowns back to back games.  Gabbert did it only once.

I don't think the two things between a man's legs affect anyone's abillity to play quarterback.

My avatar is Blake's first touchdown. I wish I could show you a picture of his second one.

Maybe if you had mentioned Blaine Gabberts balls in an earlier prayer!

The thought never crossed my mind that I should be praying for something girls don't have.
We're not in the clear (just yet).  People seem to forget all the enthusiasm going on in the Gene Smith era, and the Blaine Gabbert era, and the Mularkey era. People even forget the enthusiasm going on with the Chad Henne era, and do not even see how mind numbing it really was.  Basically:  Gabbert era == Henne era.  Exactly.  Surprise!

If you can't create something out of nothing, you are almost interchangeable in the NFL as a quarterback.  And by interchangeable, I mean that probably you should be replaced by someone who can actually do it.

There was enthusiasm going into the Mularkey era? I don't remember anyone ever being excited about the move. I think most people knew it was doomed from the start.
I didn't laugh.

Didn't say people were exited about Mularkey being named head coach (nobody even knew who he was).  But I remember this very vividly.  There was an excitement when the Mularkey era began.  Even critical "truth teller" Rick Ballou changed his story when Mularkey was hired.  Even he has admitted he was wrong about it.  There was no doom, because nobody even had a realistic alternative of who should have be hired.  My opinion changed of Mularkey drastically with the whole endzone celebration fiasco.  Beyond the most basic reasons, you simply cannot do that kind of endzone regulation without being proven capable of actually, you know, putting your players in the endzone.

Everyone knew who Mularkey was.  He was the terrible coach up in Buffalo.  Many of us were bamfoozled by the choice.  To many of us it was just another sign that Gene Smith had failed.  Remember that Mularkey came in the year that we drafted a punter in the 3rd round.  Which drew a lot of groans from even some of the 'The Franchise is always right' crowd.

I don't remember many people being excited by Henne either for that matter.  He was never that good in Miami.  He was 'better than Gabbert' for most everyone, and nothing more than that.  Don't forget that many of us were hoping for Geno Smith just to not have to deal with Hennebert anymore.

Alright.  But WHO else should Gene have hired?  This was the whole thing.  We had Blaine Gabbert as our franchise QB.  What coach was turning him into Peyton Manning?

And Here's the thing about Henne.   WHAT DOES HE DO?  HE DOESN'T WIN GAMES.  HE DOESN'T PUT UP NUMBERS.  But why?  Let's be honest.  He has the same crappy supporting cast as Gabbert did (if not better if we're being real).  He does NOTHING with what we got, just like Gabbert did.  Is he better than Gabbert?  How? What is the difference?

He's the same.  QBs are average, UNLESS they can create moments, and if not,  they are like a glass house.   A single crack takes them from near superbowl to a straight up bum.

I don't recall excitement for the Henne era either. We just knew he was slightly better than Gabbert. No one was really EXCITED for him.
