Bust? Yea I know, he was just benched. But he's a former 1st round #6 pick. And if there's any head coach in the league that knows how to get the best out of his DB's, it's coach Bradley. Maybe a conditional 6th rd pick that can become a 5th? Besides, we just got a 6th back for the biggest bust (assuming Blackmon never plays again) in Jaguar history.
Wait...if Gus is so magical with DBs, why do our DBs suck so bad?
You are crazy if you think we want a guy who gets so upset about being demoted he does not want to practice. The Jaguars would never take a chance on him.

We need to keep all of our draft picks. And right now we should only be concerned about the current players, not guys people wish were Jaguars.

I wouldn't hate it for a low pick. but very unlikely.

Seems like an attitude problem and could be a problem in the locker room. You can't have someone unstable like that and then try to have the philosophy of  "get better and improve everyday". Even though he got torched against the rams, he ended up winning the game for them and picked it off in a clutch play. The kid is going to be pretty good soon. I just don't think he would fit in around here...

If he was released, I would take a chance on him. But not for a draft pick.

So instead of trying to win his job back....he packed up and left the facility? Not sure I'd want him

This.  Why not take a flier on him?  He hasn't had a good time since being drafted maybe a change of scenery will do him some good
He can't read.

Claiborne is a terrible fit in that Cowboys defense. I would absolutely take a flyer on him for a conditional pick.

What a bust. The Cowboys should fire their GM.

Others posters mentioned it... 5th round pickkkk...I'd say yeah, it'd make sense to me. I'd have a tough time saying a 4th.

The risk is worth the reward.
Claiborne is already back with the cowgirls and gonna play..

Lets go!!

Nah, we have Aaron Colvin. I have high expectations for him seeing as he was a projected 1st round pick before his injury.

Who would he replace? Is he better than Ball right now? No. Is he better than Gratz right now? Probably a wash. I'd rather save the pick.

If I can obtain a cornerback with first round potential for a pick in the same round that I selected Gratz, and get similar production with room for improvement, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

If he had shown flashes of that first round potential then I might agree to part ways with a late rounder. But he has done absolutely nothing in his career other than missed games due to injury and when he has played he's been beat like a drum. He's being benched for a guy who just got back from suspension last week and when he finds out he has a temper tantrum and storms out like a 3 year old child. You know its bad when Jerry Jones himself says he hasn't lived up to his expectations and Jerry isn't the type to admit mistakes.

All of that considered, he was still selected #6 for a reason and he has actually shown flashes of being a competent player.

Sometimes, guys just need a change of scenery. Marshawn Lynch comes to mind as a guy who had trouble in his draft city and went on to alter his career path in another.

The potential is simply worth more than the pick. Even if him reaching expectations doesn't pan out, you're not setting your franchise back years and no one's going to say it was a dumb move because the pick was worth the potential alone. But who knows, if he does pan out and play to expectations, then you have just obtained an all-star player for a ham sandwich, and you look like a genius.

Moves like that change franchises forever.

I don't think he's magical with DBs. Gus was a LBs coach in Tampa before he became our DC. But he was FS at ND State (don't know how good he was), so he has some experience with secondary.
