Carry on. Good day.
Quote:Already a thread about this and other roster moves.

this is the imposter JW, notice, no photo of the bortles jersey...

Quote:I thought somebody here said we cut him.

We did and he cleared, so we signed him to the PS.

I hope the moves fire up some other bubble players.
I think Chris Smith is still on the PS. I may be wrong though.

Yes he is.
What about Loston

It looks like the imposter is gone now for the time being.  Smile

I only had a Bortles jersey photo temporarily because he had not scored a touchdown yet. My current avatar is Blake's first touchdown.

Yeah, what about him? I have not heard or read anything.
If Alualu doesn't stay on the roster, then Cecil Shorts will be the only player Gene drafted from 2009 - 2011 still on the team.

Assuming Blackmon never gets reinstated... that would leave just 3 of Gene's picks in 4 years still playing for the team.  And one of them is a Punter.  The years leading up to the Gene Smith era weren't good for us either.

I think the Martin pickup the best of those.  Hopefully it turns out to be a good upgrade.

Check the transactions page.

Why wouldn't Alualu stay on the roster as a backup? He seems to get a good amount of playing time.

Currently we have Cecil Shorts (2009), Tyson Alualu (2010), Andre Branch (2012), and Bryan Anger (2012) from the Gene Smith years.

We traded our 2010 and 2011 secolnd round picks and our 2012 fourth round pick to move up in the draft.
Quote:Why didn't we just keep Chris Smith if we needed a linebacker?

Good job getting rid of Prosinski, but I hope he is not brought back.

Because Chris Smith is a defensive end?
Prosinski cut?

Cool storry bro.

Wait. Its true?

All this roster churn is the equivalent of flinging copious amounts of poo at the wall and seeing if any will stick. The guys we're releasing were poo and didn't stick. Maybe some new fresh stuff will stick, maybe not. Can't hurt to try at this point.
Bortles starting and Prosinski cut? Championship.

Exactly.  This is still a team that's in rebuild mode, so the churn is going to happen where they can identify opportunities.
Almost 200 roster changes this year. 14 in the last 10 days. Clearly not a team with consistency. Still don't think it's a positive sign. Necessary? Probably. But not a positive sign.

I wonder how many roster changes other teams have made in comparison. Maybe this is the norm?
How many changes have we made to the starting lineup?  Not many.  QB, RT, C, FS.... that's really it.  Maybe that's a lot compared to other teams, idk.

WR, TE, SS have been impacted by injuries.
Gratz would be better at free safety imo
