I would take Sexton over Frangie. His calling just sounds "forced".
Caught!! Dropped!!!
Like them both......Sexton by a nose
I have met Sexton a couple of times, and is a jerk imo. But, I liked his play calling better.

Exactly because he really a Steelers fan. Its better when the commentators are fans of the team like Greg Papa in Oakland.
Here is an example from one of my favorite radio guys Greg Papa in Oakland

LOL ... they just replaced a 25 yard reception.   The call went like this "Bortles rolls out, look at this ...."

Does Frangie know we can't see the play on the radio?

Sexton was way too deceiving .... making us think MJD just broke off a 60 yard run only to be disappointed as we are later informed he was tackled in the backfield for a 2 yard loss.

Frangie's excited play calling sounds so manufactured it's embarrassing.  It's not genuine at all.

Agree Tim how long do you think the Frangie experiment last lol
They'll replace him for 2015, IMO. He was selected because of his availability and because the timing demanded it once Sexton was offered the digital gig with the Jags.  Khan will tolerate the weak play by play for this year and then find the right guy next year.

Haven't heard FF but Sexton was amateurish. I did always admire his amazing recall of past Jaguars games.history, though. Props for that.

"Handoff to Drew! There he goes!! He's taken down...gain of two, fourth down."

Frank Frangie sounds like a walk-on actor in a b-movie from the 1950s.

It's kind of on another level.
Quote:I haven't listened to Frangie's play by play much (and I didn't listen to Sexton's much either).

In what I have heard of Frangie, I do not detect the lisp that some have attributed to him.

However, in moments of excitement (no matter how few and far between they have been for this team), his diction turns to garble.

Still getting used to him...but right now I'd take Sexton.

It's not a lisp. He sounds like he has food in his mouth.
I never minded Sexton, and I have been a big critic of Frangie on this board. That being said, Frangie is doing a good job and I have enjoyed his calls.

I hope you're right

You are in the minority

I think he has gotten marginally better than he was at first, shows he's trying I suppose. Still not very good IMHO. Kind of thought Mick Hubert would make an interesting choice but doubt he'd be interested anyway. Who could you see taking over assuming Frangie is gone next year?

Yeah, I don't think there's a real groundswell of support for Frangie hanging on to this gig beyond this year.
