Quote:One thing that's happening pretty quietly is that Allen Robinson is leading the team in receiving. He's seen a steady increase of snaps on offense every week. 20 the first week, 30 the second week, and 42 yesterday I think.
Hurns is brightening up the offense tooGood to see that we've got promising young WR's.
Arob is the Jaguars most talented WR, he has a chance to be great.

Why wasn't this guy drafted? He is going to be the next Rod Smith if he keeps this up.

He's still making some rookie mistakes, but he's putting things together very quickly.

It was good to see Shorts out there making plays. That TD was a thing of beauty.
Hopefully we see Lee back on the field soon, and then we've got Sanders coming back in a couple of weeks. That should help our receiving corps.

Coming back from an injury, to see Shorts lay out like that to make a play showed why it's good to have him out there.

Best thing about it was the zip Blake put on it. It was a straight fastball and placed where Shorts was GOING to be. Beautiful timing and beautiful play.

I see this offense getting downright scary once we have a full array of receivers to work with.. Imagine a 4 receiver set with Bortles in the shotgun.... Oh the possibilities !!!!

There is hope for the future for sure...but until we fix the O-Line it will be hard for these guys to shine. OBTW the Chargers receivers will probably have monster numbers after this week.

Hurns is the #1 receiver of the future. Yes he has had a couple of bad drops but also made some Primetime plays. Hurns is quite and just goes out there and makes plays. By far the best player on the offensive side of the ball so far.

This has been my opinion for some time as well.

Hurns has it. I'm not saying he is Jerry rice but does some things like Rice. He is not really fast and there is really nothing exceptional about him. He just goes out and makes big time plays. For a rookie he has very good route running as well. You just can't coach that.

Both Hurns and A Robinson are on pace for 800 yard seasons. Not bad at all.

It was thought to be a very deep draft at the WR position, he didn't have the bulk you'd normally look for with a guy over 6' tall, and his 40 time was average at best. He may end up being the type of guy who shows his skills on the field with route running more than just speed. We've seen plenty of speed guys who couldn't run routes and never added up to anything (Brousard, Flat-top, etc).
I think some of it should be directed towards Sullivan too. He's an extremely accomplished WR coach and I'm glad we have him here.

This is a pretty cool website that takes players measurables and puts it in graph form compared to all other players measurables at his position.
Hope I explained that right... But when you take a look at Hurns, it's easy to see why he went undrafted in a loaded WR class. Compare his chart to Allen Robinsons.

I like his big play ability, but he needs to learn how to catch. He might have more drops than catches.

I think Chad started to ruin Hurns, and that he'll improve with Bortles throwing correctly to him as he begins to heal.
All the talk of Lee, Robinson, Shorts, Sanders or Brown or even Blackmon coming back but it looks like Hurns might be the best WR on the roster.. (remember he's only a rookie so he's going to make mistakes this year just like
blake but to see this good this early is great news)!

Some of that was Chad Henne's timing being off, and the double sometimes triple coverage on him which he isnt used to (especially not NFL caliber). I feel the things hes already shown from preseason until now shows he's going to be a star..
people forget that this kid is a rookie... he's doing better than the great Sammy Watkins... so far...

especially if Blake makes him look good.

I would take Watkins over him any day and twice on Sundays. :teehee:
