Quote:Roethlisberger had a lot of talent around him and was the opening day starter. Big difference.
But I can see us going to the playoffs next year if we upgrade tight end, fullback, free safety, and a few other positions.
Wrrrrrooonnnng. Roethlisberger wasn't the opening day starter in his rookie season.

Which week was his first game?
10-2 but I think all are winable

Quote:In preseason a lot of people were making two predictions: one for if Henne starts every game and another for if Bortles becomes the starter. Well, now we can go back to having only one prediction because we know who the quarterback will be the rest of the year barring injury. So how many games do you think Bortles can win this season now that you have seen what he can do to the offense?
Remaining 2014 schedule:
at Chargers
Steelers
at Titans
Browns
Dolphins
at Bengals
Cowboys*
----------
at Colts
Giants
Texans
at Ravens
Titans
at Texans
Moderators, edit the subject title - I misspelled Bortles.
I stated Blake Bortles would start week 3 (and he played & became the starter during the game so thats close enough)
I think he will remain healthy enough to play the entire season due to his strength and mobility but it maybe ugly at times... we really need an OLine improvement, RB improvement and a TE!
I think he will lose to the Chargers & Steelers not just because he's a rookie learning his first two games but the team is a huge mess ... I hope Im wrong but those are two really strong teams...
then he'll win three in a row possibly and lose to the Bengals (they look really good on offense right now)... then 2 out of the next 4 games will be wins..and another win is possible so im going to go with 6 wins this year with a possible 7th at best...
which is a 2 or 3 game improvement from last season.. not bad if it happens considering the team is 0-3 right now going into the last game of the first quater of the season...
so to recap 0-3 to win 6 or 7 games means the team will lose 6 or 7 more to go 6-10 or 7-9.

Looks like another 12 year old has joined the board.

Close to what i was thinking except I think that we win one of the Texans games but will lose to either the Giants or Cowboys.. im thinking the team finishes 6-10 maybe 7-9 if our defense can improve too during the season..
we cant give up 39 points per game and think that the team can win even 6 games if that is allowed to continue..
I still see only 4 wins due to other issues BUT our losses won't be nearly as drastic as they were under Henne.
Losing 38-24 is a lot easier to take when you're throwing for 350 yards then getting blown out 30-0 in the 1st half and struggling with 2 first downs.
