On this topic I really believe we are not even close as good as we were last year at any time. Don't give anything about the offense not moving. The game starts and its 14-0 before you can open your first soda/Beer
Pitiful team right now. I feel like I have been lied to by the media and the coaching. Of course I believe in hope. Which this team has none of. Bortles was fun to watch but I feel sorry for what he has to look forward to.
C, D, D.. We have talent on defense, but our lack of talent at LB is killing us. TEs are torching us and until that is fixed, QBs will easily move the ball on us. I thought we did a pretty good job of containing the WRs, the only times Reggie Wayne got receptions was when Andrew Luck had all day to sit back in the pocket and wait for him to come open. The pass rush worries me a bit, although I can't say I blame them when they spent almost 22 minutes of the first half on the field.
F,F,F
Talent: No pass rush, secondary sucks, Slow lb's
Coaching: Tackling stinks, Scheme does not match skill set, Players lack focus
Playcalling: Too soft, can't defend the middle of the field, scared to blitz
Is there any other answer besides F? Shame on anybody that gave a B, I hope you were being sarcastic.
Gag 4 Randy Gregory campaign is underway.
Jerrad, you should know we're rebuilding! They do not deserve an F. They're really young and, and... and stuff.
Poor tackling and too many mental mistakes which falls on the players and the preparation.
It's hard to judge the play calling with so much lack of execution.
Quote:They got me Bortles as the starting QB today, for that I give them an Incomplete. Now that we have a legit QB and an offense that can move I will watch and pass judgement.
Everything before today was about as useful as the preseason.
This right here.

You can do whatever you want. If you want to be a moderator, just say so.
Quote:alualu is trash. get that waste of space off the team. I have seen better play in the lingerie league.
Its been a team failure, but I dont think it falls on the Defensive coach as much as it does the players...
players not plays... right
It would be great to get some linebackers, even with the line holding the point and edge the LB who comes up usually gets easily blocked. I thought Branch looked pretty good and Richardson did not have much running room. That isn't much of a positive so I would give them a D- so far, we still can't cover anyone coming out of the backfield and too many blown coverages. I miss Daryl Smith.
Andre Branch is an RE but he has looked great when he's come in and played in Clemons absence, and I think he might lead the team with 3 sacks. They have good depth on the Dline, but the OLBs performance has made them look bad. The way Branch caught that one INT makes me think he could make the move to OLB should Gus want to try that.
Chris Clemons has been terrible.
Our linebackers have been terrible.
Our safeties have been terrible.
We finally got a player in the top 5, Andre Branch with 5 sacks... maybe he'll get more playing time against the Chargers?

we see it the same way. Poor production. Poor performance. Poor preparation.
Ever heard of the other 6 P's...
what happened to this so great defense we were suppose have? They haven't done anything but miss tackles since the first half of eagles game. They looked great then, and since that second half all they do is miss tackles, and mess up. What happened?
This is defense resembles the 2008 Seahawks, a very young and growing. I do see a spark when Bortles took over which allowed the D to rest. But for the long haul, they need to be able to stop the run and cover whole lot better. Number 51 cant be everyplace at once.
But this all falls on Caldwell and Gus .
More roster moves in the making. San Diego starts the Bortles season. Everything else was just practice.
I heard on the radio this morning, I think it was Ryan O'Halloran who said that right now, statistically, this is the 13th worst defense in the history of the NFL. IN THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE NFL. THAT'S A HUNDRED YEARS OF HISTORY.
They can't tackle, they can't cover anyone, and they are constantly confused about their assignments. This isn't even as good as an expansion team.
Where does the responsibility lie? I have to say, as much as I love Gus and Dave, they are responsible for this mess and they have to fix it. You can blame Bob Babich, you can blame Tyson Alualu, you can find as many scapegoats as you want, but in the end, the people at the top are responsible.
Two "F's and a "D". I guess they spent too much time on that area that got the "D"
the offense is young, but our defense isn't. We have a lot of vets on our defense. We have serveal players on defense from last year. the whole defense is playing worse then a high school defense missing tackle.
