The Patriots had free agent tight end Dustin Keller in for a visit Wednesday, but he left town without a contract, reports the Boston Herald.

Keller tore his ACL, MCL and PCL and dislocated his knee last August during a preseason game with the Dolphins, but the report said Keller’s "knee is healed." The 29-year-old is now focused on returning to football shape.

The report said if the Patriots decided to sign Keller he "could be used similarly to Aaron Hernandez."

Damn....I really wish we had gotten a ham sandwich in the Gabbert trade.  We could use that at TE.

I would say we are a stage from desperate at this point at TE.

Hopefully this slows the start BB talk. No way in hell do you put him in under these conditions.
