Very True.

But, right now they are also missing:

2. Experienced WRs, LT, C, RG, RT

3. A good LG

4. A good RB (IMO)

BB will improve that some. But this unit is gonna take a while.
Quote:Justin Blackmon.

If we cant throw it since we dont have any studs at WR, then they load the box to stop......wait for it....Toby Gerhart.

A healthy and focused Blackmon on the field would make a huge difference with this offense, but that's not going to happen any time soon (at least another 5-6 weeks at best).

Gerhart should be more of a weapon in the passing game in an effort to keep defenses honest.  I'm not sure why Fisch isn't using him in that capacity more often.  Get the ball to him in space so he can build up a head of steam and let's see what he can do.  Same thing with Robinson.  Both guys have the potential to create plays if they're put in the right situation.
a decent offense... but more to the point..

wait for it...

the end zone.

Quote:It's almost every position on offense failing.

With Shorts out, we have 3 rookies and Mike Brown, our receivers are highly inexperienced and inconsistent.

Our O-line can't run block and are way out of sync due to a new body at almost every position.

And Henne being Henne.

Talent.
What this offense is missing right now is the opportunity to develop.  You've got at the moment 4 rookies starting, and now you've got less experience with the TE ranks, and a rushing attack that is headed by a guy who has never been a feature back in the NFL.  With the rookies and inexperience particularly on the line, it's not really a wonder we're struggling.  It'll get better as the season progresses, and hopefully when Bortles does finally take over, that will accelerate the progression for the offense.  In the meantime, it's about growing and maturing as a unit.

with a qb that won't be starting after this year....

Until the rookie is at a point where they think he's ready to take over, yes.
The offense sure is missing something but it isn't Justin Blackmon.

Do you ever question anything that comes out of Jaguars management's mouth?  It's obvious that there are times when management is wrong and the fans are right.  Unfortunately, it's been a lot more often that the fans were right.  Just try to look at things from a realistic approach instead of taking everything you're told as if it's gospel truth.

How can you possibly know if they're wrong about this?  Because he played well in the preseason?  That's your bar?

I am being realistic, and I do recognize where they are as a team with this process.  There are a lot of factors at play here that none of us are privy to, but you are more than welcome to question what they're saying.  That's not going to change anything.  Sooner or later you'll realize that fact.

I agree.

I used to have FBT's approach with Gene Smith, even when it was blatantly obvious that I was wrong.  I learned from that however or at least I tried to.

It's not wrong for fans to support the team and it's decisions but there are going to be times that the team is wrong.  They aren't perfect, not even the best front offices in the league are perfect in their decision making.  They're human.

There have been A LOT of times that many fans on this very message board were right about things and I "attacked" them for their "negative" opinions in the past.  However I was young and immature at the time and again I'd like to say I've moved well on from that.  People were questioning a lot of decisions that Shack and Gene made and were often put down for it.  It turns out they were right after all.
[Image: balls.jpg]I think these are what this Offense is missing.

The offense is missing BB

Agree 1 thousand.

A focused Blackmon will force double teams and keep that safety outta the box.

And the peice about Gerhart is spot on. Get him involved in space and lets see what he can do.

And Robinson needs more touches, its simple as that.

There's a lot of head scratching going on with how Fish is dealing with the issues on the offensive side of the ball...  I'm glad to read you saying this.

We're only in week 2, and obviously we have so many holes in our personnel, but I just don't understand some of the decisions being made (or lack of decisions to be more accurate) during the game in terms of adjustments based on what is occurring in real time.
