After listening to interviews from Roy Miller, Cecil Shorts, and Gus Bradley its clear this team is going thru some youthful growing pains. Bradley mentioned that the offensive playbook has been scaled back and the WRs are struggling with the routes they've been given, which should be expected with rookie wideouts. Miller hinted that some players don't have a grasp of the playbook. Cecil defended Henne citing that the critics aren't in the film room and can't see what's really the issue. So what I'm I getting at? This team is going to struggle, at least thru the first half of the season but its not the end of the world. Hopefully the young'ns "get it" sooner rather than later. Enjoy the ride and be happy that in a few years from now when we are Super Bowl contenders you can say that you went thru the struggle with the team.
Go Jags!
For those who haven't seen the interviews I strongly suggest checking them out:

Second youngest team in the NFL. Youngest in the AFC.
Bradley said double-digit mental errors by receivers counted during film evaluation from the skins game.
Much depending on second year players in the secondary.
Two rookies and a second year guy starting along the o-line.
Yeah, it's gonna' show. Obviously more than we thought it would.
Professional players that are given millions of dollars are struggling to run some routes and remember the playbook? Are you kidding me? They better "get it" soon or "get out".
Everyone EXPECTED growing pains and making some mistakes, here and there...
But not a complete CLOBBERING - aside from the 1st half of the 1st game (too bad we didn't finish and gave up 34 unanswered, so it negates that).
I was expecting to field a competitive team, but we have anything but - from what we have seen so far.
I would like to see progress, and I expect it, so let's hope we can at least remain in the game going into the 4th quarter.
udder teams wit 'yout's don't seem to struggle like dis....
if the coaches cant teach the players a reduced playbook in time for the season. that's an issue. and not one to just say oh they are young. its the coaches job to prepare them, either they do a good job of preparing them or not. not being talented is one thing. not knowing the plays is a fricking disaster.

Quality stuff right there.
I guess since someone isn't blaming Henne, this is the best you can muster.
To the topic, this is a young team on both sides of the ball. There was an expectation they'd struggle. Shocker! They did.
It'll get better.

You know you are anxious for BB just like the rest of us . Admit it .
off topic but god I just keep thinking if we hit those field goals vs. philly to go up 23-0 we would have won that game and had so much more confidence going into the next game and the season after...
I think our expectations of fielding a competitive team needs to be tempered. This is year two of a complete rebuild. Time to focus on the small improvements and try to keep building on that progress until we get a competitive team.

I'm patient enough to wait on that.

Duuuuurrrrrrrr????

We have no choice but to be patient, do we?

Some people here don't seem to get that point.
Who's the first youngest team in the NFL and what's their record?
The NFL is a parody league. Teams can go from awful to decent with free agency and a good draft. We busted big time in free agency, but people are in denial. With the cap room we have, there is really no reason we should be this awful and have the "growing pains" the OP is referring to.
Flame on homers.
