Terry And Jim Pegula not only own one, both both professional sports franchises in Buffalo, New York. The Pegulas currently own the Sabres of the NHL, but now they took over ownership of the Ralph C. Wilson family trust, and purchased the Bills, and will both keep the Bills in the City Of Buffalo, and build a new domed stadium in downtown, next to the Sabres home ice and arena, the First Niagra Center. War Buffalo! B)

Good news for Bills fans...plus seeing Jim Kelly beat cancer on top of the win at Chicago.
Things are looking up.
Quote:*are
I think both are correct in this case. Since the Buffalo Bills refers to a singular team as well as the plural members said team.

In this case, "Are" would be more appropriate, because you'd say the Buffalo Bills
are a football team. Not "The Buffalo Bills
is a football team." Team names tend to imply plurality. Even when they aren't. For example the Utah Jazz. "The Utah Jazz are a basketball team." Not "the Utah Jazz is a basketball team."
On the other hand "Starbucks" IS not ARE, unless you're referring to more than one Starbucks.
I heard they paid $1.4 Billion for that franchise to keep it in Buffalo?????? They buyer owns the Sabres and it's great for him but also for Shad as his investment in the Jags just jumped another $200MM... If the Bills were worth $1.1B plus they have to build a stadium for another half a Billion for a domed one ( I can't see NY helping much since that state is totally broke and the last thing that NYC area politicians will do is throw much money at Buffalo).. And how in the world will the local community be able to support all the enhanced club areas a modern NFL Stadium has to have??? Business continues to flee the area... The owner is a loyal Buffalo guy but running an NHL team profitably and NFL are different things... The great advantage as an NFL owner is all the TV revenue so small markets like Buffalo and Jacksonville all share... The NFL are money loving socialists ( except for Jerry Jones who keeps all of his merchandise revenue)....
I thought owners couldn't own two pro teams in the same city? Guess I was wrong.
Like a poster said above, that's great for bills fans. We've already gone through the wonders of wether the team would be sold ( think shad put that to rest) now, they don't even need to worry about it.
That's almost twice what SK paid for the Jags. It now seems like SK got a great deal on the Jags.
In today's NFL, I just don't think you will see another team go to 4 straight SB's.
It might look like Seattle has a chance, but I would bet a lot of money that they won't go to 4 straight SB's.
The Bills are a big reason why Dan Marino only went to one SB, they were just always in the way and they just kept on beating his Dolphins, home or away.
Shad Khan is sitting on a goldmine
Finally a cold weather team moves from outside to inside. In the relatively short time I have been a football fan, all of the new stadiums with domes have been down south except Lucas Oil Stadium, which replaced the RCA Dome. Minnesota is also replacing a dome with a dome now, so two years at the university don't count in my book.
So what will happen to Ralph Wilson Stadium?

What does the Bills being sold have to do with us?

Ford Field, which opened in 2002, has a Dome.
If a new stadium in the Buffalo area is built, Ralph Wilson Stadium likely will be torn down.

The sale of the Bills is for an amount much higher than Forbes considers the value of the Bills Franchise. This greatly benefits Shad Khan and the other NFL owners. Their franchises are now worth more because of the Bills sale.

Many years ago, the NFL started allowing an owner of a pro sports franchise to own an NFL Franchise in the same city.
However, an owner of a pro sports franchise in a different city still can't be the majority owner of an NFL team.
Awesome news for bills fans, I know they have been on the bad side of things as of late so nice to see something to smile about.
good for them. hope they do well. except against us of course.
