Never been a fan of his. And personally believe the Giants have been overrated for a while. I'm sorry but just because he has 2 rings doesn't make him better than Peyton, or any number of qbs, like a lot of people suggest.

Didn't see the game but his stat line last night was worse than Henne's. Does he, or Coughlin even, survive another year of this?
I don't know one person who believes Eli is better than Peyton.

I know a lot of Giants fans. They all think he's amazing.
He's never been close to his brother.

It's not hard to see the arc of his career in his stats.

His comp %, yards and TD's have decreased each of the last three years.

I can't take away his two Super Bowl wins. But outside of that, he's been really average.

I agree. I think it just goes to show the emphasis of how much a lot of people put on Super Bowl wins to be considered "elite"

A guy I used to work with told me Eli is better than Marino because of those wins.
If coach TC had just retired after Eli's and the Giants 2nd SB win, he would have been able to retire on top of the world and his legend would live on forever, especially in the eyes of the NY faithful.

Not a lot of guys get to go out on top, which makes the few that do seem even more legendary, in their sport, as time goes on.

Of course he will still be very popular with the fans because of the 2 SB wins, but going out on top, not many get the opportunity to do that.

It's kind of mind boggling that the great PM is 1-2 in SBs while Eli is undefeated at 2-0, with 1 win coming against the, at the time, record-breaking undefeated 18-0 Pats.

I was just thinking the other day about how Eli is one of the worst looking multiple SB winners I have seen play, in recent memory, maybe ever.

There's a few 1 time SB winners who were just average or so QB's ( Dilfer, Johnson) that dropped off after winning the SB, but 2 time SB winners, they usually stay pretty good for a while, unless they retire or father time gets them.

Off the top of my head, the only active multiple SB winners are TB, Big Ben and Eli.

Eli isn't and never was great. He had a monster running game and a great defense to piggyback off of towards two SB rings. This years NY Giants is one year away from needing to totally rebuild and it shows as Eli is having to carry this team on his own and I don't believe he's capable of doing so.

Dont forget who made one of the more clutch plays in the history of the super bowl to beat tom brady's patriots.

Eli manning struck gold for two years and got two rings out of it but he earned those rings just as much as the def. did. It is true, He will never be better than peyton nor is he even a top 10 QB but sometimes you just have some magical runs. Big Ben is another one I throw into this category.
Average Eli game stat..

250 yards, 1-2 td's, 2-3 ints..

David Tyree?
The current state of the Giants Offensive Line,  a limited amount of playmakers on Offense at present,  and the adjustment to the Packers version of the WCO certainly makes Eli Manning's job more difficult.

Eli sometimes makes bad decisions,  including on the Interception by S Glover Quin last night when Eli was under pressure by DT's Nick Fairley and Ndamukong Suh.    Yet,  how many NFL QB's would be highly successful under the current circumstances of the Giants Offense?   My guess is VERY few,  if any.

You guys are forgetting that he's 8-0 in the playoffs... its not like the superbowl winning giants of the NFL's past were 1st or 2nd seed teams.. they had to work through the wildcard everytime, and they still made it to the big game (and won). And a lot of that can be attributed to the giants punishing defense and running game, but Eli  has played extremely elite every time he has seen the playoffs. something his brother cannot do.

If Peyton had that postseason trait... Imagine how much more legendary his career would be. 3-4 Superbowls, with 2 teams, and owns pretty much every QB record. Gotta say I'm glad he left the AFCS. Would much rather face Luck than him.
Eli is the anti-Peyton.. Plays poorly during the regular season but turns it on during the playoffs. Peyton owns the regular season but hasn't played as well during the post season. If only they could somehow merge into one player....

He's definitely not 8-0. They got shutout at home by Carolina one year.

Yeah, I seem to remember a loss by Eli's Giants too.

I'm not sure exactly what his playoff record is, but I would think it has to be pretty good overall, as both times he won the SB, they were a low seed and didn't get a bye, so that's at least 8 playoff wins right there.
I'll be shocked if this new offense lasts beyond this season for the Giants.  It's a horrible fit.

I recall at least 3 playoff games Eli was the losing QB.   One was in his 2nd season.  Carolina came to Giants Stadium and knocked off the Giants in the first round.   The year after,  the Eagles beat the Giants in the playoffs.   I believe the game went in OT.   In 2008,   the Giants were the # 1 seed in the NFL but lost to the Eagles in the 2nd Round.   That's the season the Giants started off unbeaten for more than half the season but it was also the season that WR Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg.

It sure seems to be a horrible fit in multiple ways.   I'm getting the impression that Tom Coughlin isn't comfortable with the Offense,  based on the Giants personnel,  including Eli Manning.
