LaMichael James | FA

49ers waived RB LaMichael James.

James has long been trying to angle his way out of San Francisco, where he played two snaps in Week 1. He'll be subject to waivers, meaning all 31 other teams will have a chance to submit a claim. James brings a big NCAA name from Oregon, but has shown nothing more than scatback or package ability in the pros on limited opportunities. The fact that the 49ers were willing to simply dump him speaks volumes. James may get a look from RB-needy teams like the Cardinals or Ravens, but he's unlikely to find enough volume to be a fantasy contributor.

Over/Under on him being reunited with Chip Kelly?

Do the eagles really need another scat-back?
Maybe claim him as the backup to Gerhart? Has to be better than Todman.

Worth a look.

I was thinking the same thing.

... ducks and hides....

I heard on the radio this morning then talking about running backs what do guys think about maybe looking into getting lamichale James. He was released from 49ers today.
He's not better than Gerhart, and I feel like Denard/Todman are better than him already.

Meh

I can't remember a time in Jags history where it felt this thin at the starting RB position. It is probably unfair to knock Gerhart after just one game of poor run blocking and an injury. But what happens if he goes down?

This is pretty bad. The Jags haven't really addressed the RB position through the draft since drafting the departed Jennings.

Storm Johnson says hello.
But how much was the front office really relying on a 7th rounder to be a solid contrbuter? He'd be worth a look but I doubt we bring him in. He might be a good returner

Arian Foster says hello
I really liked him in college and it was cool seeing him stay kinda local for me over here in Ca but I'm not sure how I'd feel if he came to the Jags? I think he could replace todman but I'm not a fan of todman either way lol
