Is why I can't get into college football.  What could possibly be fun about watching a glorified UF practice against E. Michigan?  Bet the fans are still on their feet, screaming their heads off though.

I bet they are... Because they're fans of their team, whether they're playing e Michigan or Alabama.

Maybe you just need lessons in fandom?
Saw some highlights of the game earlier.. The fans were definitely NOT on their feet screaming their heads off.. Or rather, perhaps the handful of fans that showed up were. But the majority opted to stay home by the looks of it. Can't say I blame them. I hate the snoozfest at the beginning of the college football season. It's basically preseason for most teams
The fans are still chanting "Go Gators!" and doing Gator chomps and the wave. But I never heard the "Blue Orange" chant today.

It was neat seeing Kelvin Taylor score a touchdown while wearing #21. (He scored twice but I missed the first one.)

I don't understand going for it on fourth down in field goal range. Isn't that  trying to run up the score by going for 7 instead of 3 points? And why is Jeff Driskel still playing?

It is. Hopefully with playoffs this changes overtime.

There is no such thing as "running up the score" in college football. Style points matter. Nebraska narrowly beat an inferior team today. I wouldn't be surprised to see that hurt them in the new poll. Florida's trying to get into the top 25, and they're not going to get there without blowing out the teams they're expected to.
EMU has often been overmatched in the MAC Conference for many years.   Let alone on the road against an SEC team.

But the game was already out of reach by the time they did that. Just kicking it would have been good enough because it was a blowout/shutout.

A blowout by 20 doesn't look as good as a blowout by 40 and a blowout by 40 doesn't look as good as a blowout by 60... Etc....

Yep, this why I can't get behind college football. Pay at team $1 million to lose to you by 60 pts. What is the point exactly?

Money. Teams can pay someone to come in. They get an extra home game which equates to ticket money, concession money, etc. In the end it pays off big.
