Quote:Aren't there rumors that the Jags will go after Maxwell in free agency next year? He pretty much held his own for the most part and was being thrown at basically the entire night. Would be another good poach from SEA next year IMO

Thats the first I've heard of this one...

Quote:I doubt it. I think we have two potentially good corners in McCray and Colvin.

Yep, IMO the only 2 good corners we got right now.

Quote:Yet you have no problem signing Red Bryant and Chris Clemmons?

I wouldn't have much problem signing any of their front 7, either...lol, just pointing it out... Laughing No need to be butt hurt over calling a spade a spade regarding the Texans and their cheatin ways. B)

If you ain't cheatin you ain't tryin in pro sports anymore...

Quote:True, but Jimmy Graham would not be nearly the player he is with the Saints and Brees throwing him the ball if he had the Jags QB's throwing him the ball.

I wonder sometimes if players don't realize how lucky they are to be drafted into a good situation, then they would have been to be drafted by a much worse team who passed on them when it was their pick, earlier in the draft.

Jimmy Graham would be Jimmy Graham anywhere.

The above excuse stems from you trying to find reason for Marcedes' not being very good. He's just not very good - period. No matter what QB throws him the ball.

I agree the ML just isn't very good, I don't need any excuses for that. All he's really good at is blocking, but that's a waste of use for a TE.

I just don't believe that Jimmy Graham would have the success he has with the Saints if he had BG and CH as his QB's, that's all. I just don't see it.

Why not? The guy is a physical freak. He's 6' 7", 265 and possesses upper echelon athleticism, quickness, coordination and hands.

Graham isn't doing what he's doing because of Brees. He's just a flat out mis-match for just about any defender wins just about all the one on one battles, and most of any doubles.

Yeah, Graham is awesome, but Brees can make the throws to get him the ball where he can make plays with it. Plus, their whole offense is just better. The Jags QB's just couldn't make those throws.

Sure, he would be a big asset for the Jags, we could only imagine what he could do here, but how good would he be with BG or CH throwing him the ball.

The Saints have the offense to maximize Graham, the Jags just don't.

Did Blackmon or even Shorts' numbers really suffer with He-bbert throwing them the ball?

Why would it be different for Graham?

I think their numbers most definitely suffered.  And so would Graham's.

If you replaced Colston and Devery Henderson on the 2012 Saints with Blackmon and Shorts -  I'm certain they would have much better numbers than what they had here.

Gene Smith would have never in a million years drafted that style of TE anyway.
The one Seahawk free agent to keep an eye on is Avril.

The point I am trying to make is, that both Blackmon and Shorts were able to put up pretty good numbers/ ratios despite the He-bbert QB situation.

Could their numbers have been slightly higher with Brees? Thats certainly possible.

Blackmon was on pace for like 1500 yards last season and Shorts other than the injuries has been on pace for 1000+ yard seasons as well, and they were both with He-bbert.

I have to agree with this.

You could say they actually they were putting up decent #'s, even with He-bbert throwing to them, but how much better could those #'s be with a top line QB throwing them the ball?

How many times did we see Henne completely miss the open WR by a big margin, whether it was into the ground or overthrown, or get the ball batted at the LOS? I know I saw way too many.

Sure, no QB completes all his passes, but Brees sure seems to complete a lot more than Henne, esp when the WR/TE is open, and that is the difference.

Especially after Wilson signs a 10 year $1/4 Billion contract after winning his second Super Bowl.
