Don't know if anyone has seen this yet.  It's a great story and I hope everything works out for him like we all want it to.

i think there may have been a thread about this a while back. he definitely has a good story and a ton of talent. i know bortles is the premier pick and will impact the team the most, but marqise was probably my favorite pick because of where we were able to get him and what he has been through.

glad hes a jaguar.
Only been playing receiver for about 4 years now
It's a great story.

I really liked the way Gus said he gravitates to Lee because he has such a great spirit.  That speaks volumes about the kind of character the kid has.

Hopefully he lives up to the expectations.  It seems like he's been challenged to do that most of his life, and he's risen to respond each time.  If that continues into the NFL, he and Bortles are going to be as effective a duo as Brunell and Smith were.  Maybe even better.

Im rooting for lee big time this year. Not just for numbers but the ability to stay on the field. Lee reminds me so much of mike walker and we all know the tragedy that happened there. Dude kept breaking knee's and eventually lost all athletic ability.

How is Lee anything like Mike Walker? Walker had a major knee injury in college and missed his rookie year with the knee.

Lee had a knee injury last year. I doubt at the same severity of walkers but there are many similarities. Most people think Mike Walker is a bum but he had some serious talent coming out that was completely ruined by injuries. The walker we saw his last year here was nowhere near how good he was when he was drafted. So don't take the comparison as an insult.
Love the Marqise Lee story !!!

That said, I'm not jumping in with both feet because we've been burned before by that great story of Justin Blackmon befriending cancer patient, Olivia Hamilton, back at OK State.   Wallbash

Walker had a complete tear of his ACL and bone loss in his knee as a junior at UCF. He also missed his rookie year with a knee injury. From what I remember, Lee had a sprained knee at USC. Nobody is insulted. The comparison is just not apt.

To be fair, the Walker we saw here for one year was pretty darn good.

Yeah, the severity of the injuries isn't nearly the same.

You mean "Waffle Hands" as some big brained poster referred to him?

Walker had a ton of potential that he never fully realized.  It was a shame because he was a talented receiver.

Biggest tragedy I've seen on this roster besides Collier's accident. I was sure he could become our next Jimmy smith.

I think most here had similar expectations.  It was a shame that never came close to panning out.
You could almost build a "What If All Time Team" for the Jags and their career ending/altering injuries.

Tavian Banks(RB)

Michael Cheever©

Mike Sims-Walker(WR)

Mark Brunell(QB.....stupid Jesse Armstead)

Richard Collier(OT)

You could add Greg Jones too.

I'm thinking more of Fred Taylor.  What if he'd remained healthy during his entire career here?
Good point.  That guy was the perfect package of speed and power.  What was it, torn ACL one year and a broken ankle/foot two years later?

He missed 23/48 games in years 2-4. By averaging 76 yards a game which was his career average, would've likely put him top 5 all time for RB's...and a likely spot in the Hall of Fame.  It's a shame.

He could have easily had Adrian Peterson/Eric Dickerson type numbers some years.
