Quote:Those are awfully funny ways to spell Miller and Coors light?

You know how everyone loves a nice prime rib...I mean it's delicious right? And then that same person will also, in a pinch, eat a dollar hamburger from McDonals...because its edible, sort of...

We are all talking prime rib while you're going on about your McDouble.

The beer I drink never needs ketchup.

Miller and Coors Light are the beers you politely accept at a tailgate because it's free and the host doesn't know any better. Of course if they brought Budweiser you fully justified to slap them as hard as you can and pee in their gas tank and/or barbecue.

I've seen many self-proclaimed beer aficionados turn their nose up at run of the mill domestic labels, but I've yet to see one refuse same in absence of a better choice.

Nothing like a simple beer, good old Miller Light has never let me down!

This bud's for you!

That's not the point. Miller Light doesn't accentuate a tennis sweater tied around the shoulders.

But it certainly sets off nicely a pair of soiled overalls and a Skynyrd t-shirt.

Without pretension.

I good sir clean my overalls thank you very much! And say something bout skynyrd I dare you!
Quote:Not true. Many European countries have American micro breweries growing there. German beers are great, but are hindered by their purity law...no extra ingredients. Yet still great. Same with Belgian beer.

State wise?

Oregon.

Quote:Germany isn't hindered by their purity law, it just limits what you can legally call beer.

A majority of the beer I drink is German for this exact reason.  The results speak for themselves.   The rest being Belgian (because they are the best) and American (because we seem to be obsessed with hops).

Anyway, I'd go with:

Delaware (Dogfish Head), and Cali/Chicago (Lagunitas)

Rulers of the hop world.

Then don't present yourself as the stereotypical condescending jerk.  Pretty simple.

By commenting on the fact that there is a difference in quality between mass produced domestic beer and microbrews?

Would it be condescending to suggest BMW makes a better car than Hyundai?

So sensitive.

But you didn't present it as a comparison of fact.  You resorted to a patronizing analogy and tone that was intentionally meant to sound contemptuous.

Perhaps, but I was more or less playfully ribbing Eric because I knew he could take it.

I didn't account for the collateral offense that could be taken by his fellow swill drinkers.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to the racquet court. I don't want to keep Marjorie, Linus and Topher waiting too long.

We should go drinking sometime.

You used to post some genuinely funny witticisms, but they've shaded towards snide in the last year or so.

(shrug) Maybe it's just me.
For the record I was just having a little fun in this thread. Sure I like miller light but I'm positive some of these other beers are better, I've just never had any of them lol.
There are five breweries that have attained distribution in the town I live in in Virginia. FIVE! Now, two of them are really into making fruit beers and IPAs so obviously I avoid them, but the others are pretty good.

While I can't really speak to Oregon beers, I'll take a Legend Bourbon Barrel Imperial Brown Ale over most any beer I've tried recently.

Obvious choices are Colorado and Oregon. I'll choose Colorado being that I reside in the state.
