I find Alfie's antics entertaining. And the fact that Jeff Prosser can't stand him is good enough in for me.
Quote:I think out of market fans would get more out of the membership. They wouldn't have to deal with the drama like the locals would. I don't do drama anymore so I wouldn't fit in. But whatever helps the Jags and spreads the word, as long as it's not negative and disparaging.....
That's my thinking as well. The local Duval BCB group I'd imagine is super cliquey. The out of market chapters probably don't have that.
I do know that bunch of the founders went to Fletcher HS.

Are they associated with Bold City Brewing, co? Cus that beer has my full support :yum:

Flunk'em You Betcha? Which class?

He does have a very young one, I believe.  But simply having a child doesn't mean you're a good parent or use good judgment.

He was excusing the Jaguars for overlooking the content of their practice music by writing it off as a "teachable" or "parenting moment," then berating parents who complained about it.

LOL...

Umm... no.  IMO, the Jaguars should have been more attentive to the soundtrack and played "clean" versions of songs for a practice open to families.  That would be the adult response.

It only became a "teachable" or "parenting moment" because of the Jaguars oversight.  Otherwise, no lesson necessary.

Most of the time he is entertaining.  But the arrogance and egocentricism gets to be too much after a while.  He eats it up regardless.  Any attention is good attention if you have that perspective.

To his defense, that's a common trait of his generation.

Great point on Prosser.  Enough to consider that for sure.  IIRC he called Prosser out on something and it really got under his skin.  I'm not sure Prosser ever took his medicine for it, and if he did it took quite a while before he dropped it.

I agree with the above.

That account about Alifes take doesn't surprise me in the least, either.

Agreed on the fact that he relishes the attention.

I didn't realize he and Prosser had a media feud going, but that's funny stuff.

Yeah, brushing it off as a teachable moment was probably his way of thanking the organization for letting him inside the ropes.  For a long time, he was stuck in the bleachers with the rest of us.

Which is where he probably should still be

He's not a fake reporter.  He's a credentialed, published writer.
Will be meeting up with the Tampa Bay chapter for the first time on Sunday.
So are we in agreement that Prosser pretty much is awful too? My biggest pet peeve with him is that he does not say "um" when he loses track of what he is saying on air. He says "em" over and over again. Once I realized that's what he is saying, I fixated on it making it even more painful with each utterance.

did he get a journalism degree?

Does that make you a #faketweeter considering you come to a message board to create dumb hashtags?

aw, he's sticking up for his boyfriend, how cute.

I'm fairly certain that's irrelevant considering what he does for a living. Do you have press credentials to roam the sidelines of an NFL franchise?

If we are going to compare resumes, I'm pretty sure Alfie is doing something you only fantasize about as you perfect your scrape and flip technique on the grill.

Since when am I an Alfie fan?

LOL... so true.  Umm... errrmmm... it's like a form of punctuation for him.

I'm exactly the same as you.  I can't listen without fixating on it.  It's quite amazing how he plants them in there so naturally.
