Quote:I was only correcting Cat Attack, who said OSU was #6 in the AP last week. They were #6 in the coaches poll, not the AP.
Why does SI.com have an article about the coaches poll update, but still show the preseason AP rankings? All I care about is the AP poll update!
I would tend to think the coach's poll is much more credible....you have guys that actually do this for a living ranking the teams.

OSU drops in all of them, as they should have.
But...that never happens.

Quote:Yeah, that happens to other teams. When was the last time that happened to Ohio State?
Today.
And comparing this year's Week 1 win to wins in the past is absolutely stupid (not surprised you'd do it). When was the last time Ohio St. was ranked prior to their Heisman hopeful quarterback being lost for the season due to injury? When was the last time that Ohio St., after losing their star player, went on to struggle in Week 1 against Navy.
You Ohio St. fans are unbearable.

But when you watch the games, the number next to the name (like 5OSU) is the AP ranking. It is much easier to talk about rankings if you see it on the screen.
Also, coaches can botch their votes. An OSU assistant reportedly voted for Texas when Jim Tressel meant to vote for his own team. Ohio State had just won at Texas when that happened.

I meant before today. And Ohio State was still ranked very high after the NCAA banned Maurice Clarett permanently.
