What do you mean by only one play?

I believe they mean.... The game only lasted for 1 play.

The start of the game was delayed 2:50 for lightning. Also nearly 2" of rain.
Idaho kicked off, the Gators kick returner (appropriately named Showers) ran it back to the Idaho 17.
At that point there was another lightning delay, and the game was eventually cancelled.

That was funny about the kick returner's last name. Hopefully if the game is rescheduled, he brings it out more than 17 yards to start it.

I was there and it was wet.. It was supposed to be my first game ever in the stands in Gainesville going with my son in school there... I will say I understand why they continue the Georgia game in Jacksonville.. Us Jag fans are used to the real seats, cup holders, escalators, varied concessions, bars, and now cabanas etc.. It was not going to be a full house for a cupcake opponent but the kids were out in force... Oh... and every ticket is $25 regardless though they do have their premium areas and I guess the season tickets on the home side require donations... But the seats were all bleacher ( though many fans bring seat backs with them) and the concessions were pretty basic.. And of course.. no beer...
But the students who hung in there were great and that college atmosphere certainly brings a dimension we don't have at a typical pro game... You see some of that at the FL-GA games but because the tickets are split, you only get half the sound plus BHG is not as tall so the views from the upper areas are a little better.. They have a nice scoreboard that is probably better than the old one that was at Everbank but looks puny now compared to the current one,,, When those Gator fans who otherwise haven't seen it get a glimpse of the scoreboards at Everbank in early November, they'll be blown away...
I'll be curious what they are going to do with tickets for the makeup game which looks like end of October since both teams have a bye...????

My guess for the ticket situation is if the schools decide not to make up in October, everybody will get a refund; if they do make up, fans will be told to come back later.
When do they have to decide on whether to make up?

Who's there?
Seiously, I looked at both ESPN.com and SI.com and did not see anything related to Idaho and Florida. So I had no idea they canceled the game after one play.

Nice to see Valdez have a big return, he's been bouncing around different positions and I hope he's a playmaker as a WR/return man for the Gators.

Unforfunately the big return will not count. If they decide to make up, there will be another opening kickoff.
But it is nice to know he is a good kick returner.

Listening to Brady Ackerman this morning, I now doubt it will be replayed since Florida will not lose any money because of weather insurance they take out for every game just because of this... Probably doesn't cost much but it will cover all the costs and refunds including my $50 ( probably not my Ticketmaster fee)....

So why did the article I read state it would count as a new game? That looks to me like they will kick off again.
If Idaho did not buy that insurance, they will lose a lot of money because of the 100+ flight tickets to Gainesville.
