I'm not sure why he isn't but he has the best production coming out of college for an edge rusher since Khalil Mack, and he did it in the SEC. He's great against the run and dynamic as a pass rusher, and I've even seen him legit drop back in coverage and cover TE down the seem well. The ONLY thing I see he may lack is power, just because I don't see him bull rush often, and arm length, which has been proven to hardly even matter. If we let Barnett slip pass us on some NFL conventional wisdom crap we are stupid. Barnett gives me the same feeling I had watching Mack back in 2013 where he can do it all at an extremely high level on the field, and it would be extremely Jaguars to pass on him at 4. The only player I would not be upset with us picking Barnett over is Jonathan Allen, any less than that and we are once again the fools of the league.

 

All I see people focusing on is Garrett and Allen and then after that people start talking about RBs and Safeties...fooey. I think Barnett is a better player than Garrett. and is a better player than either RB and people are sleep. If he blows up the combine athletically Dave better sprint to the podium with his name on the card.

Haven't seen any of this alleged top-5 talent, personally.

Only Vols game I caught this year was their bowl game, and Nebraska had no answer for him. I was impressed, in my not so expert opinion.

What does his Spider chart look like?

I'm not sure who is better between him and Garrett but it's certainly a conversation. Guy is a stud.

Garrett is better.

 

However if Garrett and Allen are both gone, I have no problem taking Barnett.

He looks good, but I'm not sure I see Khalil Mack at all.  Mack was SO shifty that no one could get hands on him.  But not opposed to Barnett either depending who is there.  He's quick off the line and if we can get him to cut a few pounds, he'd be even faster.  

I dont think Barnett has the elite physical tools (Height, size, agility, speed, etc...) that you expect from a top 5 pick.  But you cant deny the production!  I have wondered if he'll start to move up draft boards as scouts are unable to find a huge bumper crop of elite players.

He has talent but a reach in the top 5.

Almost all the highlights I saw showed his only move being the outside dip under the OT
