Quote:I'm still betting on week 6 or 7 barring injury. Just depending on if they want him to debut on the road or at home.

I would expect a home debut so his entire family can easily attend. They been really good about having his family here.
Quote:I spoke to someone inside the organization this morning and he said that with Pasztor injured, and the shuffling of the line at center, the coaching staff does not want to risk it with Bortles. His timetable is pretty much to start at some point, and that the date has probably accelerated a bit based on his preseason performance. Still, they also recognize that things ramp up to a completely different level in the regular season, and they want him to see the difference before throwing him out there.

Did this person from the organization say anything about how they actually feel about Chad Henne?

Also, how will he "see the difference" between preseason and regular season? Is it game film? Why not show him game film from last year, same Henne, same offense? Are they predicting blowouts where Bortles will come in for mop up duty? If Brewster had worked out and Pazstor had stayed healthy, would Bortles be starting?

Bortles will start when the coaching staff think he's ready. I don't think they could make that any clearer.

And starting Henne for a few games will have little impact on our chances of winning the Super Bowl this season...

Amazing, isn't it?
Any way you can gete in touch with this person from the organization so I can ask him these questions myself.

I don't think of it as a debate as much as a discussion. It is the one of the most interesting things going on with the team right now, so I'm not surprised that people are discussing it.

Some of us do love to make mountains out of molehills.

There's also nothing wrong with sitting back and watching.

I just don't understand the animus.  We've got our guy regardless.  It simply doesn't matter.  An exercise in futility.  Spots or stripes, Bortles is still a Jag.

I see what you're saying, but we are on this board talking about Jaguars football. We can talk about the QB situation or we can talk about the third string TE we were awarded on waivers today.
