Quote:Robinson's injury was a hammy, right?

Those things can linger.
Yeah. They can.  I'm being somewhat optimistic.  I think his being on the field during practice rather than in the pool or training room is a good sign.

I was taking issue with the idea that we have no red zone threat without a specific player. A true red zone threat is our whole wide receiver corps working in tandem because if only one guy can score a touchdown from a short distance, he will quickly be shut down and we end up punting the rest of the day.

What ticks me off is I don't recall Robinson ever having this issue in PSU, and now - boom- within the first few days of camp he gets it here....

I've heard the theory floated in various places that these college guys have almost no time off for physical recovery between the end of the college season, all star games, preparing for the Combine, private workouts for pro teams, rookie minicamps, and right into training camp.   That's almost a year straight of football, and the theory is, having no rest for a year is what leads to all these soft tissue injuries for rookies.  It seem plausible to me.

Quote:I meant to include him as well. And I don't recall any Blackmon jump ball TDs. ML89 is the only person i can recall.

His breakout game vs. houston in 2012. It didn't get counted as a TD because he let go of the ball too quick once he hit the ground but he jumped and caught a TD fade form Henne easily

Using that logic, why don't all rookies get hurt during training camp? What is different about Allen Robinson?

It doesn't mean all of them have to have soft tissue injuries, just like smoking doesn't guarantee lung cancer.   It just increases the likelihood.
Quote:He made the trip to Detroit (unlike other injured players) and has been working on the side at practice the last couple of practices.  Depending on how he practices this week he may even play the last preseason game on a limited basis.  I'm not worried yet.

I expect to see him ready to go on opening day.  They may try to get him reps this week against Atlanta just to see where he's at.

You mean it's not an NFL conspiracy against the Jaguars?

That point will be lost on the target unfortunately.

Are we punting from the red zone?

Meow.

I think it has some merit also. Especially with the sprint training they do for the 40yd dash and such.

Yeah, many of the soft tissue issues are probably the result of extended periods of training in preparation for the draft.  The body needs time to heal.
Gus just said that Robinson is running full speed now and will begin trying cutting this week.  Won't play Thursday.

Gus stated in the interview that just came up that he will not play on Thursday

good grief

And that's fine.  It would be nice to get him reps in the preseason, but it's more important that he's healthy when the games count.
