By choosing Anthony Lynn interim coach, a fired Rex Ryan apparently had more power than GM Doug Whaley, who didn't know Rex was getting axe

  This is an excellent illustration of why I'm no longer critical of Doug Marrone leaving Buffalo two years ago.    Marrone must have seen that under the Bills new ownership,   the organization would be flawed and that it was best to pursue another coaching option.

Agreed. Marrone saw what was down the pipe with the new owners and understandably took advantage of the clause in his contract.

It's a freaking circus in Buffalo. Comical.
So.....is Marrone no longer a "quitter" and a valid candidate in previous doubter eyes?
Being eliminated from winning the division after week 1 for over a decade will drive a GM mad.
