Full Version: Special Teams being overlooked

I'm seeing all these articles about how much better our defense and offense look, but we're overlooking just how improved special teams are looking as well. We look pretty dominant out there on special teams, really reminds me of Seattle last year where they only allowed like 15 yards per return or something. Returners are hitting brick walls against us, guys are hitting hard and covering well. The team is taking real pride in special teams play and even Gruden and Tirico pointed out how spirited the team looked on special teams plays. When we get Ace and Doss back we'll have 3-4 legit return threats, with those two probably making up one of the better return specialist duos in the league. And Bryan Anger is close to a top 3 punter in the league if he's not definitively. Man, next year we're going to be absolutely dominant at all three phases. The nucleus of what we're building here is really special guys, you don't see a team like our's shaping up to be for the next couple years too often.
As killer as our coverage teams have looked, the return units have a ways to go IMO. Doss and Sanders should make a huge difference there though.

Also, Anger's punt to the 5(?) yard line last week was a thing of beauty.
Yep, we just need a return game.  The coverage looks real good so far.

Top 3 punter. I'm sure Banger has already finished his speech for how we will win the division on the road to the super bowl.
Specail teams kept us in games last year...  and the year before....  and the year before that......... and the...... you know where i'm going.

Scobee deserves a spot in "The Ring of Honor" when he's done here.
