Quote:It'll be interesting to see who starts this game at the Center position.

I'm guessing they stick to their guns and start Brewster at C and Linder at RG.   Eventually, I see Linder at C and someone else at RG.  But that's later in the season or even next year.

Quote:My point was that he wasn't a regular starter for the Bucs, and hasn't played for the Jags yet. He's still pretty much an unknown. To claim he will upgrade the team is just a guess at this point.
His potential is unknown but its not a guess if he will upgrade the position.  We shall see when he comes back and takes the spot back from Reynolds.  It will also make our depth better as will the return of Poz.
Quote:Haha, D-Flo sucked pretty much everywhere he played. He got burnt all the time.

Today might have been the final stage of Drayton Florence's long NFL career,  as the Lions released him three days before he was going to be facing the Jaguars.   It wouldn't surprise me if the coverage breakdown by Florence the other night in Oakland contributed heavily to his release.   Considering Florence was entering his 12th season,  you have to compensate for any lost skills with heady play if you want to remain in the league.

McClendon starts for the Jags @ C and Linder @ RG... A real good test against a really solid D line.

I hope Detroit keeps their guys in long enough for Bortles to get some live fire from Suh, Fairley, and those guys. At least a couple series.

We should have a pretty good idea on if Bortles is going to steal the starting gig, and we should find out a lot about the starters for the Oline.

Can Bowanko come back quick enough to make a push for the C job? Otherwise I think McClendon is taking it.

Hope these guys can get some push for Gerhart.

Out of all those former Jags... aren't most of them pretty terrible?

It would make me happy to see Bortles get a completion against Mathis.  Signalling the change of the era.

If Ace comes back i'd put him at KR/PR only. I think until he proves he's not going to go full Blackmon on us his roles should be limited, allow other young players to progress with the reps he'd normally get

I wouldn't be against him getting some reps in the 4th Q
I think D-Rob could have a sweet game on the indoor surface - and there's the Michigan connection, too.  He'll have lots of fans in the stands.

Me either. Kinda like Blackmon last year, he got a lot of late reps.

It's Reynolds' job to lose at this point anyways.
The thought of Detroits DT combo and our sieve interior OL scares me regarding Bortles getting time with the 1's.

He'll be fine.

Is Suh even going to play?

The Jags pass blocking has been OK. The big problem is with run blocking.

I dunno about that. I'd agree that the pass blocking is better than the run blocking, but the interior seems to be soft in both pass & run blocking.

Pass blocking improved from game 1 to game 2, and the expectation is that this trend should continue.

Just keep Bortles healthy and everything will be ok.

I don't expect to see Gus and Dave put him in harms way.  He'll be fine.
Quote:Dwayne Gratz has a chance to gain some confidence this week if he can keep Megatron in check for the few plays he covers him..

True but the other side of the blade is that the pass rush disrupts the timing. We can't just give them all day to throw and not expect Megatron to make plays down the field.
