Quote:"I suck at warmups".  Dude is a cool cat.  As long as he keeps slingin the rock like he did in the game who cares.  "Practice? we talkin about practice"

Did you notice Stanzi's response? In a nod to one of Gus' mantras, he says "It's good to be consistent. Consistently bad or consistently good."
Quote:Yeah I got a chuckle from that - and his asking Mike Brown about the pools.  His chat with Beadles on the sideline made me laugh as well.
It was an entertaining video and I like the calmness and poise he seems to show.

However, if he was serious about not being able to identify the mike on a play, it shows he needs work.

That was my thinking as well. ^^^
He's far more likable than Gabbert ever was here.
Gabbert had a pouty attitude at times. Bortles seems like the complete opposite.

In all fairness, it's hard to be chipper when you spend the whole game running for your life.

Running from that phantom pressure

The local media is starting to talk about just how stand-offish Gabbert was, and just how inactive he was in the community.

I hadn't really thought about it but he really didn't make much of an effort to connect with the community. Maybe it was his youth? Not sure, but every other QB this team has started has made an effort to do charity work and other stuff. Gabbert never did much of that to help his image.

I kind of got the feeling that he was thrown into the deep end of the pool without any kind of support behind him...and that he was young and didn't have a clue about what to do.
Awesome awesome video!

I can totally picture Gus and Dave falling in love with Bortles right after their first meeting. Awesome attitude towards the game!

Del Rio did him no favors, that's for sure.

Not to pile on Blackmon, but he was the worst interview I remember ever seeing for a Jaguars player. Something about his disposition.

Reminds me of a friend I had in high school that my parents never liked. They said he wouldn't look them in the eye, lingered in the corner, always seemed seedy/nefarious. And BTW they were right; we were up to stuff we shouldn't have been.

Justin just didn't send off good vibes from day one.

I saw this a while ago and immediately told my friends Bortles shows more personality in this video than Gabbert ever did.

That was awesome. I have a sneaking suspicion that his punting rating may go up in 2016.
He has a very Aaron Rodgers like personality.

The more access I get to him, the more I think Bortles is a Brett Favre type in terms of personality and approach to the game. Favre always maintained a "looseness" about him and never took the little stuff too seriously and I am getting the same sense from Blake. He seems to genuinely enjoy being on the field and playing with his teammates and he lets that show. That kind of enthusiasm can go a long ways towards being a leader.

Excellent use of the word nefarious.

It also didn't help that he was, you know, an absolutely awful quarterback.
I liked him smacking Linder on the [BLEEP] down the field, made me laugh.
