Remember that time that Coughlin traded a fourth-round pick for Brendan Stai, who was supposedly one of the better guards in the AFC? How'd that work out for us?
Interior linemen are not worth a fourth-round pick.
Quote:It all depends on what the 9ers really want. Plus if he can play Center, or if we can flip some players around and make it work that would be awesome. He is a Pro Bowler after all
Quote:You would pass on a young probowler because we drafted a 3rd rounder who hasn't even proved he can start in this league yet?
When did he make the Pro Bowl?

My mistake. Pro Bowl alternate.
Quote:In the last few months alone:
Rolando McClain - 6th
Stevie Johnson - 4th
Terrelle Pryor - 7th
Mike Williams - 6th
Jeremy Zuttah - Undisclosed
Matt Schaub - 6th
Darren Sproles - 5th
Jonathan Martin - 7th
Blaine Gabbert - 6th
It's not frequent, but it happens more often than people think.

Those examples do not help your cause.
It shows that players being traded isn't an uncommon occurrence. A 4th round pick is about as much as a team can get for a right guard, all pro, hall of fame, or not.
Maybe start Linder at center.
Id gladly ship a player over there for him.
