I know im whizzing in the wind, but I feel better by at least ranting.
Jags will play starters for 1/4. Others will sit on bench, purely because it's preseason.
Will I get charged 1/4 of a ticket price? No. This is the biggest thorn in my side. Hopefully the NFL will drop 2 of these tune up/ evaluation games. It's the biggest sham they run.
As a season ticket holder, I see the argument of buying game day tix,vs,season tix. It's cheaper if you omit the two exhibition games.
Ok. I'm done, and dang it, still don't feel better.
Go Jags....even if many of you won't be Jags in a couple weeks.
Yeah, I love watching football whenever it's on, but I can never get myself to watch week 1 or 4 of the preseason, unless it's the jags or bucs. Luckily this year both are playing in the first game, which should draw my interest the whole game, which is different for week 1 of the preseason.

On the flip side here in Jacksonville, Kahn is bringing more value to the season ticket with events like Carrie Underwood/Soccer. I am sure he will have like events in the future for season ticket holders. But I totally agree about full priced season tickets for glorified practices.
It was 4 or 5 years ago, and preseason was the main reason I didnt purchase season tickets (besides the fact that I could have bought every ticket for $20 or less on the street) I went to every game except the preseason.
Funny...well not funny...but how they jack up the price for high demand games ( Steelers Giants) yet don't drop the price for low demand games..ie: preseason.
It's a cash cow for owners. Paying players very little until regular season but getting full price from fans.
It's like a movie advertising Sandra Bullock, Clooney, Pitt in a flick.... And they play a nominal role for the first 5 min.
But until the fans say enough, the cash cow will continue raking it in.
The Pats rested all their starters.
I wonder how many people besides the season ticket holders, actually buy a full price ticket to preseason? Point being..it's the loyal fans getting the screws put to them.

Exactly, and you know its a problem when the Jags send out surveys on why you do or dont buy tickets and preseason is one of the options. They know its an issue, but they arent going to stop it because I'm a sucker and pay for them anyway.
I cant wait for certain people to pop in this thread and call people names. I could list them in this post, but that would make it too easy.

You nailed it all around. I hadn't thought about the higher profile teams coming in being raised and then looking to the preseason games remaining the same. Great point. But you also explained why this is the case too.

I agree that we're getting fleeced for 2 preseason games paying full price for the tickets. However, that's not a league policy. The league actually doesn't benefit at all financially. The owners keep the revenue generated from the preseason games. The team sets the pricing structure.

Agreed, but in order for that to continue to be the value in owning season tickets, the team needs to do these events on a regular basis, and not just to premiere the jumbos.

The fans aren't going to. They're going to grin and bear it. You think any Green Bay season ticket holders are going to return their tickets because of the two preseason games?

Actually I know a few who have. But comparing Green Bay and JAX is irrelevant. Until we get a waiting list, fans will still wait till game day and/ or buy on the street. We don't meet supply and demand.
My main point is season ticket holders should get some perks besides a one time, hearing impaired Underwood concert.
It's almost as bad as seat licensing.
Two tix $85 each. $340 for two games that many times are left in 3 rd quarter. That don't amount to anything but evaluation and glorified practice.
Then we have Jerry Jones. Already issuing playoff tix. Brilliant. Get money. Bank it. Get interest. Don't make playoffs. Refund. Keep interest profit.
Anyway. Until fans of the sport finally say no more, it will continue.
Of course owners throw down their wild card....we are moving.

No doubt. Personally I think this is something Khan and crew will do.

I do want to say that for the games that had the prices raised, its the same price for season ticket holders regardless. I would consider that a season ticket holder perk.
If you are going to cherry pick the better games, there should be a premium.

Exactly. It's only impacting those who want to buy for the one game, so if you don't want to pay the premium, buy season tickets. The perks that come with those tickets more than make it worth it.
