Some of you might not be familiar with it, but the federal government has a petition site where citizens can register and create petitions which will be responded to by white house staff and even Obama himself. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/

Recently congress, at the president's behest, finally passed a bill which was originated on the petition site. The bill makes it legal, again, for consumers to unlock their cellular phone so that it can't be held hostage by their wireless carrier. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/respons...g-response

If you didn't know about this success how does it make you feel knowing about it now.

I guess the American telecom companies didn't donate enough into the parties' campaign funds to stop this blatantly pro-consumer bill from going through.

whew, I was starting to worry Obama wouldn't have anything successful to go his way. Good to hear I always hope for the best, glad the guy finally caught a break!
