Oh, thanks for telling me MY INTENT after I clearly forewarded it with/ prefaced the comment up in that post as quote "DEVILS ADVOCATE"...

Quote:I actually have a theory on why religion isn't allowed... I think it has to do with fear of criticizing a certain "religion" that apparently is off limits to criticize in todays world, however, the other less violent religion's are fair game to shred.

I could be wrong, but if I had to venture a guess that would be it.

There you go again - building a straw man and attacking it.

Freedom fighters never rest, right?

You could not be more wrong, but if I told you the real reason it would violate the ban on religious discussion. I know that sounds like a cop-out, but that's the truth.

There you go again as well.

Without a doubt I'd know how you'd react if religious discussion were allowed/ which side you'd lean...

Just like Brian from Family Guy. I mean, textbook. You really are him.

There's only one religion around these parts and that there is football.

I'm a member of political discussion board that does include a religion sub-forum, and it's moderated much more heavily than any of the political forums.  I'm not sure what's so caustic about discussing religion, but it sure seems to get some people fired up.

Quote:I don't want to discuss it, thats why I think it should be put in a section for people that do....

I'd love a section like that.

I don't see why there has to be a ban on Religious discussion. Why would anyone want to discuss Religion/Spirituality on an NFL forum in the first place?

There was not a ban previously...I couldnt even tell you how many years ago.  Every thread turned into some kind of religous/political discussion.  Everything was derailed and the message board was caustic.

And do we really want people showing up on here telling us all were gonna burn because we watch football on Sunday?

I don't remember that.....but even if so, they'd be doing that in the separate religious/ political forum, so you'd likely never see it.

Which is why religious discussions won't be happening here.

Yup.  It got completely out of control at times, but that was in the days before mods were part of the equation.  Now, it's about mods not wanting to have to police a forum or discussions that heavily.

And you're Howdy Doody, wooden head and all.

Sorry, I don't watch Family Guy. And hey, you forgot to throw in the pejorative - Liberal! That's your latest lame auto-reply.

You need a new act.
Quote:devils advocate.... we already made 2 separate forums for Fantasy sports and All sports forum and now we are suggesting another sub forum...

Jags football talk is already not allowed in the sideline...(as it has its own section, too)

lol, if we keep at this pace, nothing will be left to discuss in the sideline, as we keep regulating with sub forums for other specific topics.
I pointed that out when those "sub forums", for lack of better term, were created too. Where does it end in the creation of separate "sub forums"?

I do think the separate one for politics are needed though.

Yeah, I agree it makes sense for the topic of politics. I just wish religion was also allowed in that same forum.
